THE BEST LEATHER DYE EVER!
I am a professional restorer of designer handbags. I buy them all beat up, clean them and then use this product exclusively to dye them. It's the best product EVER and I have bags I dyed years ago that still look great. I can't say enough nice things about this dye! The first coat may look "streaky" but press on--the second coat will do the trick. Although this seems like paint, it is NOT PAINT, it is a dye. Cleanup is soap ad water and I've used it to change black to white--it covers that well. Use sparingly--less is more and a little goes a long way--and be patient. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY and you will get excellent results. A beat-up leather bag a bottle of this dye and a some of my time always equals a brand new looking bag and resale at a profit or a happy restoration client. I've dyed so many pairs of shoes with this product that I have lost count. It's the BEST product I've ever used and I have been using it for 10 years.

This stuff is awesome! used it to dye some summer clogs which I had purchased in natural leather. I decided that I needed a little color. So glad I bought this. Used the AIR FORCE BLUE Color, it's like a deep cerulean. SO NICE. I googled some steps for dying shoes/clogs. Taped off ALL the parts I didn't want any dye on. This was a multi-day process but I achieved professional results. You can't tell my clogs were home dyed at all.Day 1- scrubbed shoes with soap and water. Let them dry over night.Day 2 - used the "PREPARER " liquid that comes in the package. this is also a bit of a soapy liquid. Followed the instructions in the package for using that, and let dry over night.Day 3 - Taped off ALL the wood part of my clogs and all the parts I didn't want to get any dye on them. Used blue painters tape.Gave the shoes one coat of dye following the instructions in the box. Let that dry overnight.Day 4 - here I was nervous as the dye looked sort of streaky on the shoes. Gave it a second coat and WOW!Let that fry overnight. Not immediate gratification, but well worth the extra effort. Really professional looking.

Great product-easy to use
I had a pair of Frye boots that I got on sale in a slate blue color that ,unfortunately, shifted to a baby food pea green after several years. I had always wanted the dark brown, but didn't want to pay full price. Dying the boots was a perfect solution. I looked up dying leather boots on Youtube and found a tutorial using Tarrago Self Shine Color Dye and Preparer and Fiebing's Leather Dye, Dark Brown, 4 oz.I used the Fiebing's first as it is a penatrating dye and the Tarrago on top to add another layer of color and seal in all the dye. I used the preparator before both dyes to clean the surface of boots (alcohol also works). I suggest buying an inexpensive plastic drop cloth home depot to protect your work surface and a paint sponge applicator, which makes applying dye on to larger areas much easier. Both products were easy to use. Now I have a beautiful new pair of boots!

As expected
The dye works great, though the tiny sponge falls apart fairly quickly so I ended up using a soft rag which worked better for me. I purchased an old leather bag that was in need of some TLC for a project that I wanted to do. I ended up doing 3-4 layers of the dye and then sealed it with Angelus matte. It took me around 3 days to complete the painting as I waited awhile for each layer to dry completely. Overall I’m very pleased with my results.

Product is great!
After trying on many pairs of shoes for daughter's upcoming weddingId decided I was going to have to wear a pair I already had worn for a couple of other dressy events. The problem was that the antique white shoes would not work with my platinum dress! While doing an Internet search for a business to dye my shoes I came across DIY shoe dyes. After reading many reviews on several products I ordered Tarrago kit in platinum. First coat was streaky, but I expected that because of reviews I had read. I put on 4 thin coats and the shoes look fabulous. Plus I have 1/2 bottle left. This is a product I can highly recommend and I will use again. (Sorry that I don't have a before photo!)

Try it, you'll like it!!!
I wholly expected that this was not going to work as well as they did. I dyed my brown shoes, black. Trying to save money, because the black shoes were around $25.00 more than the brown ones, I thought I would send them to a shoe cobbler to dye them. I'm so glad I did it myself. Just to see if I could get the same look as a professional. They look beautiful! Great product, don't be scared. Just use the brush like a paint brush, follow the instructions. I painted them about 3 times to get the look just right. Now I just have to break my new shoes in! Love them!!

Easy to use, great results
I have tried a range of shoe dyes through the years and most have been O.K., but the Tarrago brand has produced the best results for me so far. It was easy to use and I was happy there was no strong or toxic odor as with some of the other brands. The cleaner takes off the surface dirt and prepares the leather for the dye and then the dye goes on easily with the brush provided. As other reviewers said, the first coat can look uneven but subsequent coats take care of that. I wanted to dye a pair of super shiny metallic silver shoes a more matte pale gray and chose the Pelican tint. I needed four coats to completely cover the metallic shine but in the end the shoes came out exactly the way I wanted. I did find it helpful to use a small pointed watercolor brush to get into tight corners and do touch-ups but the cleanup was easy (soap and water) and after the dye settled overnight, I buffed the shoes lightly with a soft cloth and they looked brand new. I just bought the smoke gray for another pair. This dye has emboldened me to buy shoes that are on sale because the color is unpopular.

Defraudada totalmente.

Great
This works wonderfully with feiblings leather dye. I used the white solution first and then the feiblings leather dye two coats and then the self shine dye and my designer bag looked better than when I bought it new. Fabulous

I used one of the Tarrago blue colours to dye a pair of cream shoes I had spilt red wine on and which had marked badly. Fantastic result - really professional finish (you wouldn't know they were dyed, no sign of red wine, and seems robust after many days of wear. I then order the beige for a pair of good quality heels I have had for many years but really were needing to be thrown away as they were badly scuffed including the toes peeling. Just an amazing result when I dyed these today. Really worthwhile for rescuing shoes - the instructions are excellent and you do it all in one session as the dye dries quickly even with 3 coats. Top notch product. NB both shoes were leather.

Shine like glass!!
This is an amazing product, it's the best shoe dye I have ever used. If you follow the instructions, you will be amazed at how your shoes turn out. You would think that they are patent leather the gloss is that good. I have used this dye before to dye a pair of light shoes green. I didn't like the colour so I decided to dye them black. You would never know they had been green, or any other colour. You would think they had always been black and you can see your face in the shine. As I said you get a 'shine like glass'. A truly amazing shoe dye which I would definitely highly recommend.
