The Grate Plate is a ceramic grating plate used to easily grate garlic, ginger, peppers, nutmeg, and so much more. The graters are handmade with stoneware ceramic using food safe clay and glazes. Stoneware is extremely durable, easy to clean and is also dishwasher safe. Our grating surface is softer on your hands so you wont cut your fingers as you would on a traditional metal grater. You will also notice your garlic and ginger grates down to a fine puree, providing the upmost flavor! Each plate comes with a brush, which effectively transfers the grated foods to your recipe. We also offering a free garlic peeler with the purchase of The Grate Plate as an added bonus.

Works Great, Easy to Clean
This works really well for ginger. I have not tried it with garlic because I prefer minced over grated, but I am guessing it would work wonderfully for that as well.

Awesome Garlic Peeler & Mincer
I've had my Grate Plate for a couple years now. It works great, cleans up without any hassle in the dishwasher, and shows no sign of wear. I just bought 2 more of these as gifts. 1 was for my daughter who had tried a similar one but said the other manufacturer's plate (BC) was sharp and hurt her fingers, so she asked for the Grate Plate for Xmas. The other one was for a family grab bag gift. My sister-in-law ended up with it at the end of the game we played, and she didn't think she'd find it useful, but after trying it out the next day said she it was "the best gadget". To peel, you simply drop a clove into the roller, roll it in on the counter a few times while applying some pressure with your hand, then turn it upright and the peeled garlic drops out. To mince the garlic, just grab the stem end and rub the clove back and forth about 5 times and it's pulverized on the plate. To get it off the plate, corral it to the side by lightly pushing the tip of the brush directly into it (headfirst). To keep the brush nice, I store it in the sleeve.
