Awesome line
Ran this line head to head against a top of the line name brand braid. 80 pound vs 80 pound on the exact same rod combos. Taking on North Dakota Paddlefish.Color retention was outstanding on the Mega8 line. The other line lost most of it's dye by the end of day two.Castablity was pretty close. Both lines where smooth and quiet. Definitely can't say anything bad in this category.Abrasion resistance was a big win for KastKing. While the river was full of nasty snags and we both where hung up alot, the KastKing line pulled out of it 90% of the time while the other line was fraying and snapping off alot.Knot strength was great with Mega8.Overall just an outstanding line.I will definitely be buying more for the rest of my gear.

Spend the money for a better quality line
I just spooled this line on a Kast King Rover 60. My initial impression of this line isn’t very good. Less than halfway through the spool there were frayed spots and something like knots that were dark in color as opposed to my yellow braided line. I’ll add pictures to show exactly what i’m talking about. I probably got enough on the spool to test out but my hopes aren’t very high. I’d recommend to do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and buy a better quality line. I’ve been very pleased with my Rover 60 reels so I though I would give the line a try. I’ll check back after using it to update if my opinion changes.

Comparable to Power Pro Slick
Overall I am impressed. Purchased for finesse spinning rod applications and this line is used with a shock leader. Was a bit skeptical after seeing some of the other reviews regarding the line twist and color issues right off the spool. No issues with the spool I received. Line is smooth and works well with tying leader knots. In the past I have used Power Pro Slick 8 for this application. Again to my surprise I did find the Kastking to be better for this application.Side note: I have fished Kastkings Flurokote and Copoly lines the last two years. I have noticed as with other reviewers of their line that some spools arrive with line twist. Most of this is in the last 80 to 100 yards of the spool. Given the cost I have not found it to be an issue with those line types. Most other brands spools are around 200 yards and Kastking general is 300 yards. I have not seen any issues with these spools and fished this line in tournament situations with 0 issues. I believe Kastking has less of an issue with a quality product and more of an issue with quality control with line spooling.I would and will buy this product again for braid applications.

First Impression
10/30/2019 I just received today and spooled up with the 15# gray on a Kast King Speed Demon 2000 spinning reel. I am so far impressed with the quality of this line. It is silky smooth and spooled up nicely. I have 10# of another brand and it seems to be thicker than this 15#. In fact, I looked again at the label to see if it was actually 15#. While spooling I did get a line of color on my finger but, not too bad. This seems to be the norm of braids no matter what brand I have tried. Some worse than others. I have not tried this line on the water yet since I just received. Once I do I will update this post on performance.....

False Advertising concerning line diameter.
I refrained from writing this review for a few days because I reached out to KastKing directly about this issue, however their response was rude and demeaning. They said you can't judge line diameter by eye, and that is wrong and that I am absolutely wrong for doing so.That is an unacceptable response, and was rude. They did offer to assist me with a return, but then I have to print a label, supply a box, and then find transportation to my post office just to send it in for a return and the. Have to wait however many weeks it'll take with the holidays for me to get my refund.I've attached a picture of the KastKing Mega 8 30lb line (right) next to Suffix 832 30lb on the left. The KastKing line claims it is the same diameter (.011") as the Suffix 832, it obviously isn't. The Mega 8 line is much thicker than the Suffix 832, and this makes a huge difference in castability and accuracy, along with affecting how lures run. Crankbaits won't dive as deep with thicker line, etc.Seeing as they were rude about their response I figured I wouldn't refrain from posting this review. Now I'm just stuck with 300 yards of overly thick line. This has also led me to not buy one of their reels. If they falsely advertise about their fishing line they probably do about their reels too.The line is cheap, and is cheap for a reason. Do yourself a favor and go with a better brand that accurately advertises it's line diameter.

Great line for the money
I purchased this line in 15 lb test for my spinning reels. I do use a 8-10 lb leader with it. So far I like the way it's holding up. I can cast into the wind and not get those pesky wind knots. However with strong side winds the lighter weight line can be challenged getting your bait exactly where to want it. This is a smooth, strong line and comes through the guides rather quiet. After about 5 trips out the line starts to loose it's brightness. However, I think that can be coming from the elements in the different bodies of water I fish. I would purchase this line again.

Great braided line
If your looking for a smooth 8 strand braided line, there's no better company to buy it from. I've used 2 other braided lines from other companies and the Kastking Mega 8 is superiors. I've caught many fish with it, once even had to fight a 30 pound nurse shark through a lot of structure. Surprisingly the line withstood being scratched against barnacles while fighting that little shark. It was not a giant fish, but the fish put a lot of friction between the line and a leg of a bridge full of barnacles. I don't think any other braided line would have withstand that.

Best Braided Line
One of the best braided lines I have ever use. Very strong and smooth, works great on baitcasters.
