Exo TerraBackground, 12-Inch by 12-Inch

It came in three separate large boxes, light weight, and over sized so you could cut them to size. Easy to cut to sizes needed. No adhesive required, I just cut them and pressure fitted them so they hold each other up. I like how it’s easy to tuck away thermostats probe wires behind the foam panels. They really help keep the heat in the tank longer. I live in an area where it snows six months of the year, so it’s important for me to be able to retain as much heat as possible. The panels stay clean and in place, despite my boa climbing all over the panels.

I bought the three pack, it was around $44 at this time of purchase. The walls are a thick styrofoam, front is smoothly textured and the color appears agreeably natural. I had to modify the three panels for a 48” X 36” wall and trimming was easy ( kitchen bread knife). I would have like a complete looking fit, but for the price, I can’t justify spending more, it looks great. My only gripe would be the frame like groves on the backside of panels. I was able to attach the rock walls to the back of my enclosure with commercial grade Velcro. So far, so good and I’m happy with the result!

Update: I love the look of the wall but my bearded dragon would climb up it and sleep, but when she sleeps her muscles relax and she would fall off the wall. She fractured one of her back legs so as much as I love the wall I can’t use it until she gets older. I definitely would recommend this to older reptile owners!!I was looking around for a while for a background that would fit my 4x2x2 120 gal tank when I came across this one. It fits almost perfectly and I love the look of this background! They came in perfect condition.

Very nice and easy to cut foam I ordered the larger one for my temporary turtle tank "55 gallons" as a background and I gotta say it came out very nice. The foam is about around an inch on avarage and it hides cuts and scars very well. I didnt find any problems with this item or the following project. This wasent ment to be under water, because foam floats obviously so what I did was, cleared the tank of everything. Rocks, decoration, and what not. I then cleaned the back panel with alcohol and a rag to clean the surface. Then I cut the foam using the face of the tank to help guide me to fit it in perfectly. Then after I cut the foam and cleaned of all the little heads. I put aquarium silicone on the back '' be genourus with it''. Then let it dry over night with the foam bearing weight of some sort rocks, logs, toolboxes. Then test it by setting it where ever you put it and fill it with water. Don't put everything back in then test. If it holds fine then build back your tank if it doesn't scrape of ththe silicone and repeat previous steps. All in all its wonderful to have and it looks like a million bucks, I hope my review was helpful and thank you for reading.

These are the same backgrounds that ship with the enclosures. If you need a replacement these are the way to go. Highly recommend.

Item dimensions is 1/2inch deficits on both length and height so they should mention that in the description and title. There is also noticeable noise patterns and embedded line on the foam board. Colors and texture were nice tho, just not exactly fitting for the tank I needed it for.

I purchased this for my crested gecko. It fits perfectly in my Thrive habitat and is very easy to install. I can easily slide it out to clean it. Great for preventing falls on the back wall and provides a natural look to the terrarium. Love!
