No additional hose is necessary if you have a 3 hose kit w/gauges (Blue/Yellow/Red). After obtaining a full vacuum you should Close the valves (usually Blue & Red) on your hose kit then Disconnect the pump vacuum line (usually Yellow) and attach it to the can using the correct adapter for your R-134a or R-12 can. The adapter is used to pierce the can and allows for storage of any unused refrigerant. Open the valve on the can then open the Blue valve to recharge following the instructions with your hose/gauge kit. Remember to close the Blue valve when you change cans or you will discharge the refrigerant you just added.
