I am a woman and not tall and the front passenger seat of our car is very uncomfortable to sit in because the neck rest pushes against the back top of my head and my head is uncomfortably pushed forward if I try to lean back against the seat back, because the seat then goes further back under this “neck” rest. I looked for something to fix this issue which could be very dangerous in the case of an accident. I found this neck rest (this is actually the second one I have purchased) and it works really well to provide a natural neck rest and is comfortable and provides support. I purchased this product before but when I left it in the car all the time (we live in an area with an abundance of hot weather) the elastic on the back eventually stretched out. Now I keep it by the front door and bring it out to the car with me so I think it will last longer. It makes me angry that car manufacturers are allowed to get away with a dangerous design like this and I was very glad I was able to find a way to mitigate the risk of the bad design.

Great little pillow that has a soft cover. The memory foam is really great quality and will retain its shape.This did not work on my car (Honda Civic 2015) as a neck pillow because the headrest is angled forward so my neck never actually touches this pillow. However, I brought this on a 20 hour flight to Vietnam and used this as my lumbar pillow which worked incredibly well. I left the plane well rested without any back pain at all! All you need to do is wedge it at the right spot on your back and it does wonders, extremely soft while remaining supporting enough to give you good posture.It did not support my head well enough as a stand alone travel pillow, but that was because I was sitting up. When I came back from my trip, my mom saw this pillow and decided to use it while she was resting in her hammock. She asked me the following night where I had bought the pillow as she wanted one for herself! I ended up giving her this pillow, and she is extremely happy.I think if you were laying down, you could potentially use this pillow and it would be extremely comfortable. I have actually considered using this on backpacking trips.

Very comfortable

I was hoping for something that would really cushion and support my neck. This does that, but I do have to adjust my head and seating to make it happen. My torso is a little short and the car's headrest is of no use to me. This does help and I think I'll keep it, but I was hoping for something to hit the right spot a little better. I think the amount of cushioning is good and mine does not just collapse as some reviewers have indicated. The foam and the cover are good quality and the strap has stayed in place with no problems. Maybe a slightly different shape and size would improve it.

Pros: Firm, ComfortableCons: noneI just got this so I might revise this review, but this thing is super comfortable and cradles my neck (which has some non-trival damage) extremely well. I tried it out on my bed at first to get a feel for it, and if I didn’t move around so much while I slept (and I slept on my back all the time), this would be great. It is actually more comfortable than my pillows while I am laying on my back — a good sign for actual use. Then I tried it in the car. Once I get in the right position (luckily the height at which it straps to the seat is perfect) I am so much more comfortable having neck support and the nice ergonomic curve to allow my hurting neck muscles to relax. For me, this thing is just about perfect so far.The build quality (meaning the stitching and external materials) seem adequate, and we shall see how long it can go without bursting seam. There does appear to be a slightly stretched seam which might have a problem later, but all else looks good. The microfiber is very comfortable as well. I think I will start looking for this combo of material in all my sheets/pillows.Until I have this thing a few months, I can’t recommend it yet, but if all goes as well as my initial impression, then it would be a solid buy recommendation.

It feels good and works well

If you read through the reviews of products for guidance before making purchases as I do, the reviews here will make you crazy. Some say it's too big, others say it's too small; some say it protrudes too much, others say it doesn't provide enough support. The problem is that the efficacy of this product is going to vary depending on the model of the car, the style of the headrest, and the height and size of the user.Under different configerations I have found this headrest to be all of the above. However, I have found that when I do get it right, it's a wonderful thing. I've 5'4", so no car headrests have ever been comfortable for me since they seen to be designed for people whose torsos are at least five inches longer than mine. The solution for me is to use it in a conjunction with a memory foam seat cushion (which is a heck of a lot more comfortable than the typical car seat anyway) and then to almost fully extend the headrest so that some of the neck pillow rests against the metal poles which fills in that dead space and supports my neck. Then, I am able to comfortably rest the top of my head against the headrest. In other words, it takes trying various placements, but it's worth it to deal with the discomforts of headrests that are really only adjustable if you are tall to taller to tallest. (Now, if some company were to create armrest pillows so that my forearms could rest on the armrests without me having to slouch down...)

Having a lot of neck pain due to forward head thrust, I saw this and decided to try it out. It is perfect. Now I can relax my head and neck while I drive without feeling like I'm reclining or not alert and upright at the wheel. The shape of that cradles your head and it does squish down to your head shape, but is firm enough that it still holds your head upright. It even seems to lessen my occurrence of stress headaches. Highly recommend for anyone with neck pain or feels fatigued when they're driving.
