CLARITY 52703 Additional Handset for E814 (Black)

Two years ago I purchased the Clarity E814 Corded Caller ID Telephone with (1) Additional Handset (Certified Refurbished). I thought it was Junk but when I switched my service provider. Like magic, my phone was very clear and loud. I was so happy, I purchase an extra handset. With my new fiber-optic service, it works great. I would recommend this device;)

Purchased for a 93 year old. Works well they can hear the person speaking. Only four stars because the directions for paring the phone to the base are useless. Luckily we had the directions for the separate base - those directions worked.

I bought this as an extra handset for my 90yr old dad. This is the first cordless handset that he's owned which actually seems to work well for his severe hearing loss. The handset was easy to pair up with his Model E814CC Clarity base station (which originally came with only one cordless handset); just be sure that you follow the directions as listed within the E814CC owners manual. Within minutes, I had him up and running with a second handset that works flawlessly with his original system.

See previous review. These do not work with the E814CC base unit as stated, I've tried two replacement phones from two different retailers and they will NOT sync-up to the base unit as stated. They may work with the other base unit (I believe it's a model 702?) but NOT the E814. I had to return them both. I even went thru the setup procedure with the supplier on the phone, and it wouldn't work.

I started to return this additional handset due to the incompatibility problems with my base unit. I had already contracted Amazon for a return label to ship it back when I decided to read the reviews to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Lo and behold they did! After reading Mindy's post dated March 3, 2016, you will find the answer. THANKS MINDY! I did as she instructed and the phone registered with my base unit beautifully. To pair phone: "Press and hold the PAGE/FLASH button on the corded telephone for 5 seconds and then press and release the # key on the expansion handset.” (Do not hold down the # key- just press and release) Voila! I did knock off two stars due to my irritation that Clarity not only couldn't PRINT the correct instructions BUT their handset FLASHES the incorrect instructions as well.

Five handsets are in every room & the corded answering machine is in my office. The signal from the base in my office reaches all five handsets put in various rooms. My condo is about 2000 sq.ft. & the quality & volume are excellent. Good Product!

I like that the hand held phone has large numbers that light up. Has sound/ voice that is very clear.Voice is audible and easy to use.

When registering the handset to the main unit base it would have been easier if they had said press page on the base instead of HS LOC , the base did not have these letters.
