The cedar smells wonderful. The assembly instructions are quite bad (you have to think things through carefully to resolve ambiguities in the instructions), but the bench is pretty easy to put together if you’re handy. If you’re not, you may want to ask for help. Made quick work of the job with a ratchet and a phillips tip for my cordless drill. Take care not to over-tighten. Just finished spraying on a coat of stain, and it looks very nice. A thin seat cushion will make it comfortable. It feels sturdy for us, but I’m going to add a vertical brace up the middle of each seat for larger people who might use it. Overall we are very pleased! The flip-up armrest is really neat.
