It is a bit confusing at first, but there are many opportunities in the pages to view hands and make the lesson apply to them. The lesson is also a bit more understandable once you sit at a bridge table, start to play actual hands with other beginners, and then return to review the lesson in the book. You have to be serious about learning bridge to have this book be helpful.
