Alegria Paloma Women's Leather Shoes

I have bunions on both feet and these shoes don't irritate them at all! I also have a pair of alegria harper, which are ok, but a little narrower, so palomas are more comfortable. My size is between 38 and 39, alegria 38 fits me very well, I can wear these shoes with or without socks and feel great.

I've never tried on Alegria in a store, so I was relying on my experience with Dankso and Sanita to guess the right size. I normally wear an 11/11.5 depending on the brand. In Sanita that equates to a solid 43. As I am wearing them with compression stockings, they still feel a bit big - but the need to have plenty of room in the toe box - makes me think that sticking with 43 is the correct thing. I have been walking about the house and have noted that if you have the strap too tight - they are uncomfortable, but correctly loosening it makes walking in them like walking on clouds.I think that choosing the right size is the biggest hurdle. If you are on the smaller end of a size I would order your normal size, but if you are on the top end of a size - do yourself a favor and go up one size. This style needs for you to have plenty of length in the toe box to enable your heel to glide up and down like most clogs. I don't believe they are intended to be form fitting like a pair of tennis shoes.Lastly, about the arch. My foot is pretty flat with almost no arch - Dansko is painful for me to wear. As you make your selection, keep the arch in mind - if you have high arches and require a lot of support - this style is not for you.

LOVE them!!! I can not rave enough about how good comfortable these are they have saved my feet! I stand on concrete for 8 hrs and would go home in great pain and discomfort after and 8 hr shift. These literally have made it possible for me to get through the day at my job I thought I would have to quit because of the foot pain from standing on concrete for 8 hrs. I own now 4 pair

Update: I stopped at my local big box store that's in every town and bought a can of "heavy duty silicone" - a multiuse silicone lubricant in the automotive section. I sprayed the bottom of the insole (after removing it) and the bottom of the now exposed shoe, let it dry, and my squeaky shoe squeaks no more! It really works! Updated review to 5 stars. If the squeak returns I'll update again.Original review: I l started having foot pain about a year ago and as I stand for most of my work day started to investigate "nursing" shoes. I discovered two brands of clogs that work for me (I'm a 41 in Sanita and a 9 in a Klog) but wanted some non clogs too. This brand had a lot of options and good reviews. I went to a DSW store just to try on a pair of Alegrias and found the 39 a little too small so knew the "classic size" 40 (DSW had only one style and didn't have anything over a 39) was probably my size - I usually fit a 9 1/2. I waited a while to write this review (I bought these shoes in August 2017) and now have several different styles of Alegria shoes. They are all size 40s so once you find your size I've found the sizing to be consistent. These were comfortable from the moment I put them on but the right shoe has squeaked from the beginning (that's why only 4 stars). I tried putting cornstarch under the insole and it helped a little bit for a while, but the aqueak was still there. I'm going to try the silicon spray trick I read about in another review because that squeak is the only reason I don't wear them very often. (None of my other Alegria shoes squeak!) Bottom line: Nice looking, comfortable Mary Jane shoe that can work with pants/leggings or skirts/dresses. Full rocker bottom which I find most comfortable.

These shoes have a very wide toe box so if you have a wide foot they might work very well for you. I wear a 7, and have a wide foot with a high arch. The strap had no trouble spanning my arch. My biggest problem was a tight area above my toes. I have a hammer toe and these shoes quickly rubbed all the skin off of the top of my toe. I'm hopeful that this will be a good pair of shoes for me, but quite honestly the leather is very stiff. I spent several days soaking the problem area from the underside with shoe stretch to try to soften the leather, and also applied moleskin inside. I'm hopeful that once these shoes are broken in they are going to be a great blessing but the leather is more stiff than any pair of shoes I have ever owned. So I would say if you have hammertoes or bunions BEWARE!

i have wanted these shoes for a long time. they are quite pricey but worth it beacause they are so comfortable. i love the style and have a few pairs already. i wear a size 4(37) , and that is what i ordered. they couldnt be delivered without me paying import duty (£27 on top of the already £123 for the shoes!) then i got them home and found i had been sent a 36, too small for me. The seller quickly refunded the money as i returned the shoes the nest day, at acost to me of a further £17- altogether a disappointing and expensive - none purchase for me

Love love love these shoes... the only thing that makes me a little sad is the chadagh, it comes lose and I have to keep tightening it back up. I'm thinking I might super glue it on but for now I'm just tightening it every time it comes lose.

Absolutely Devine!! A perfect fit (normally a 'slim sz 6/39) but the 38 provides a comfortable glove-like fit! I still have my first pair (2010) and wear them daily...I'm confident that my new pair will see me into retirement!!

If you want to be different and still wear orthotics these are the shoes for you. They are chunky but fab and I have had loads of people admire them. Good quality leather, very comfortable and the engravings are amazing.

I received theses shoes today,they were an amazing competitive price compared to other markets.The leather is buttery soft and they are slightly large, for me size 6 but I have wide feet that swell up in the day so I sure they will be fine. They look great too.
