Great product!

Bought a ignersoll 80 gal vertical twin 2 stage from tractor supply. Motor burnt out, smoke, the whole deal. Just as the other reviews on TS said it would. Only lasted 8 months.Bought this Baldor. Everything fit, except I had to drill 2 extra mounting holes in the base plate of the compressor since the screw pattern is different spacing. No big deal. The baldor is smoother, quieter and has a better start. I was not going to IR wasting my time to just get another junk replacement motor from them. If you are in the same spot, get this baldor.

Perfect replacement for my original Quincy air compressor motor.

Fits perfectly to Quincy QTV-54E. Same size shaft, so old pully worked. New motor starts smoother, has almost no vibrations as the old Baldor SPL.

Only real difference was the shaft was a bit shorter and this motor is CW/CCW.Shaft length was no issue, pulley is just at the end of the shaft instead of 1/8" inset.Wiring for the correct CW rotation was straight forward with the J,8 connection (J,5 comes connected from testing)Line up the pulleys, tension the belt, and tighten everything down. Good time to do maintenance on the compressor too. Change the oil, inlet filter, and put a new belt on.

Compressor manufacturer "inferred" only the replacement Baldor motor they offer will work...they were wrong. The OEM motor only lasted 300-400 hours. Hope this one outlives it many times over. If not, I'll update this review as necessary. Pulley alignment is tedious. The old motor had a 2.9" shaft, this motor has a 2.5" shaft but the pulley actually needs to be further on the shaft...don't know why, can only assume Baldor offset the mounting holes on the frame. I'm guessing they know what's up here. As others have stated, this motor is quieter than the OEM. The cooling intake slots are on the shaft face of the motor bearing housing instead of radially on the cylinder housing like the OEM motor.

We bought this motor as a backup replacement 5 months ago and simply set it next to our existing compressor. Our motor was sparking when it turned on and I knew it would inevitably fail.It failed and so I went to replace the motor this weekend and this was what I found in the undamaged box (see picture)We did not do that and it’s past the time we can return it.They actually packed the motor and shipped it with the solenoid all busted to hell. Probably a worker and not the company but still, Just a really crappy thing to do
