Public Philosophy: Essays on Morality in Politics

One more reading of Sandel, as the others books I read I just love it! It makes you think realistically about somethings that are really close to your day to day life, questioning things that sometimes you just don't think about. I really love all his books and lectures. I just had the opportunity to meet him live here in Brazil on a conference and it just confirmed what I've been reading on his books, that he is a man beyond his time.

I loved this book. He brings philosophy back into the public square with aplomb - leading the reader through some of the great philosophers and theories without getting lost in the detail or making the analysis overly academic.This book made me rethink many of my views on the need for personal morality to be brought into the public arena.

I bought this book after watching all of Sandel's lectures on his website, [...] and wanted to read a little more about what he was talking about in his lectures. I like the fact that this book contains a lot of short essays that you can read on the bus on the way to school.

Very well written essays on interesting topics.In particular what Sandel essay's about Bobby Kennedy and our nation's obsession with taxpayers building stadiums for multi-millionaires and billionaire owners were insightful.

Fascinating. Was new to this type of book and found it well presented and full of rich insight. Kudos!

I have only read through half the book so far but I like what I have read so far. Most ethical arguments are well presented and nicely divided into individual chapters/essay. I think everyone should read these, not because you may/maynot agree with what's being proposed/analyzed but because it gives you food for thought. It gives you some basis for believing in things that we believe in or reasons to abandon the antiquated things that we believe in. After I finish this one I have 'JUSTICE' by the same author waiting for me. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with a capacity to think and question things. A very well written piece of work.

As usual, Michael J. Sandal has written a thought provoking and important book. A must for anyone who loves philosophical debates, and a must for society as a whole. It will challenge how you think, and provide a deeper insight into ideas that you may already have come to on your own. Great book!

Great arguments supported by real-life examples. Strong logical structure throughout the book. It helped me a lot to become more ethical.

This is a wonderful book and should be read in conjunction with the YOU TUBE course on Justice of Prof Sandel. The questions asked in each chapter are pertinent and creates a debate on what is right and wrong. I read it in one sitting, and was engrossed throughout.
