Morse Code Operating for Amateur Radio – Your Guide to Ham Radio’s First Language

Low quality binding.
This is a good book for a new CW operator. The only complaint I have is that the book binding is staples. I would have preferred a professional glue bound version.

Great book about CW Morse-Code, but not for learning CW
Well-written, informative about the CW. For learning the code, need other resources.

Great Introduction to CW
If you are curious about learning Morse Code for use on Ham Radio this book is for you. It's short and to the point, talking more about why you might want to learn CW and what you can do with it than actually teaching you the code itself. The book does have good suggestions for where to learn the code and different methods of doing so.Worth the money IMO.

A Good Read but Not Worth Original List Price.
I've just completed reading this book. When it first came out I hesitated to purchase it because of one negative review. Since that time others have reviewed it favorably.I noted that the book was listed by the publisher for US$17.95. The book isn't worth that much. I recently purchased another ARRL book for that much that is worth far more. For this title I paid a little over $10 and I felt that I got my money's worth. A penny more would have been highway robbery. Most of the material in the book is readily available on the www. It's nice to be able to package it all in a book but it really isn't worth the $14.95 it originally listed for. Nevertheless it was a good read.

A very good resource.
I bought this to review some more basic details before tackling my Extra exam. It was very helpful preparing me for that tougher exam. I think, for a new Ham looking for their first ticket, this is an excellent resource.

The way it was structured
As a beginner this is very well put together for those like myself , wanting to learn

Little information for the price.
This is a very small book with very little unique information in it in my opinion. Being a CW Enthusiast and already knowing the code I picked this book up to add to my collection more than anything else. I had hoped it would have some interesting CW operating information in it and there were a few good sections. But I would not recommend this book for the beginner who is looking to learn Morse code. For that I would hit the internet and one of the many groups like Straight Key Century Club or FISTS for online information about learning.

Chap 2 "Learning CW" Mis-printed w/ Duplicate Pgs from Ch1
Im a rookie so I dont know much, so it was a suprise to see this book so thin, however, I stil found most of it decent... The main reason for the 2 star review is because the copy I recieved was printed & bound incorrectly. This unfortunate issue just so happened to result in 9 of the 11 pgs of the "LearningCW" section to be replaced by duplicate pgs from Chap 1. The worst possible chapter to be missing for a newbie, wouldnt u say?Its been over a year since I purchased the book, so theres no replacement option available to me. I usually read books I purchase pretty quicky but I had work offshore and alot went to storage... Anyway; Id say buy it if u keep a collection, otherwise, barrow a copy to read. To buyers, be sure to check your pg numbers out, before your return window closes.
