Rain Barrel Screen: 6 inch Round Double Screen Aluminum Does NOT fit IBC Tote

I’ve been using this on a rain barrel for a couple of years now and it works great. There are no signs of corrosion so it seems like a durable piece that will last a long time.

We got numerous 50 gallon polyethylene drums and wanted to turn them into rain barrels but did not want a massive hole in the top for debris to fall in and bugs to make a home out of. I traced the outside of the housing and cut out with sawzall and easily installed and they have perfect protection from debris with the tight mesh and metal screen.

The double screen is a plus, the thinner metal it's made out of allows for a little give to mold to the top of the rain collector. Amazon needs to protect them a little better for shipping.

Works perfect, stops debris from getting into your rain barrel, installation was easy.

Untested, but this should work nicely. There are 3 protruding nubs to hold it in place. They are not set deep enough to clear the thickness of the barrel top. I want to be able to remove it easily for cleaning, so I used a router to put 3 grooves in the barrel opening. The thought was to press the screen thru the grooves and turn it to lock and unlock it without trying to pry it up. Fortunately I cut the barrel opening perfectly for a snug fit for easy removal with little effort to pry it out.

Very good fit. No leakage.
