Does not harden. BY DESIGN….
If that is what you need it is right. This is for pin holes, nail holes and works very well without the need to REFINISH. The hardening kind is great. If you are sanding and finishing AFTER using it. This is not that.

DOES NOT HARDEN, NOT A PUTTY THAT DRIES
I didn't read the very small print on can. I almost always uses MINWAX products. I screwed up, it doesn't dry so you can sand it.

Make Sure You Understand What This Is
As others have noted, this is NOT wood filler used to patch holes/cracks. It doesn’t harden and can’t be sanded or painted/stained. It is like putty and can be used to cover small nail holes, chips, cracks, etc. I ordered golden oak to cover a small screw head sunk into my staircase railing. It worked well, but I personally don’t think it looks like golden oak. It’s more of a lighter tan color, nothing golden about it. Ok product for what it is, but it’s use is purely cosmetic, not for repairs.

Takes for ev er to dry
Like the title says it takes forever for it to dry.

Works great on cracks
I have engineered hardwood installed on concrete slab floors and from time to time the individual slats pull apart from each other. This flexible puddy works well for those small cracks and still allows some movement.

Beware: This stuff NEVER dries!
This stuff is basically a form of Play-Doh that never hardens. It is wood putty, not wood filler. Look up the difference on the Internet. What use is it? I don't understand why anyone would use wood *putty* , since it never dries. You will just have a wet surface, forever. You can't sand it or stain it. I got this by accident before I knew wood *putty* was a different thing than wood *filler*. Oops. They should put "NEVER DRIES" in all caps in the description.

Good quality putty.
This putty is easy to use and drys fairly quickly. It does shrink a bit when it sets but I just build it up a bit more and sand smooth when dry. Stins well and is very durable.

Effective, simple to apply, sand, and stain
Ive used several of rhis wood patch, easy to apply, i usually use a putty knife. Sands easly, use 320 grit sandpaper for furniture. Depending on the wood you fixind, try it on a hidden place (under the top) to try just varnish or stain if its not dark enough.
