Tallest Spikes, perfect as deep pile carpet protectors
Long spikes keep the base of the carpet protector from denting your carpet. The 5/8th measurement (over 1/2" or 19mm) is the actual length of the spikes. All regular carpet protector spikes are 1/4" (just 6mm).These spikes are 3 times longer. The base is 3mm or 1/8th inch thick.Regular carpet protectors put a permanent dent in your carpet, just like your furniture does, because pile carpet is deeper than 1/4" which means regular protectors must utilize the base of the protector to support your furniture. These tall protectors points are the support, saving your carpet from dents. The pattern brushes out with the swipe of your hand when removed. There is no pressure into the carpet from the base of the protector. This product is perfect for bookcases or filing cabinets which don't benefit from a plastic cup-style protector. This product should be the first "hit" when searching carpet protectors with tall or long spikes. They function perfectly!

These work great on an office chair mat and carpet, but...
My home office is unfortunately carpeted, and there is no glorious floor underneath to discover, so the carpet remains until someday when I have the money to get it done and put something nice down.Until then, I've been stuck attempting everything I can to keep my hard, polycarbonate office chair mat from sliding around. Having to adjust it every couple of hours so that the front wheels of my chair don't wind up back on carpet again is annoying. Nothing has worked so far, so I finally decided to just try sticking these on there. So far so good. Unlike another reviewer, I only put mine in the four corners, mostly because I was chagrined to find that the adhesive backing is NOT clear as I had assumed it would be based on the photographs. If you need to know this for any reason, it's white.I actually have some double-sided acrylic glue squares that are used to hang things and are permanent, and I'm thinking of peeling these back off, trying to remove the white adhesive squares and using those instead because it looks really tacky (pun intended, I guess?)BUT... they are functional, thankfully, and they do feel really sturdy. If you're using these under furniture where they won't be seen, they're sufficient. If you use these on a polycarbonate chair mat, anywhere you place them is going to take a moment to sink into the carpet so for the moment, my chair mat corners are a bit raised. I've placed heavy objects on each corner in hopes that these will soon settle INTO my carpet. I realize the point of these is to not "dent" carpet with heavy furniture, but I honestly care if they "dent" the carpet in any way since I hate this carpet and my main priority is keeping this mat in place. This company should consider making products especially for this purpose. With slightly pokier studs and clear adhesive backing so they show less on a clear chair mat, something like this would solve my (and many others') chair mat issues in seconds. There are literal social media threads of people seeking solutions for keeping chair mats from sliding around on carpet (I know, because I went looking for these solutions). Take note!

EASY WAY TO STRENGTHEN THIS BRILLIANT PRODUCT
I have HEAVY stuff with fat legs on thick, deep pile.Another reviewer made me concerned that the bits holding the four sections together were too fragile and would collapse under heavy furniture. When I got them, I realized that they WOULD snap apart because of the shapes of my bed legs.I simply went to TAP and got some1/4" HDPE (because the color matches the bed legs) and had them cut 4" x 4" pieces. The result is REALLY sturdy. Now I'm going to get more for my very heavy sofas. I'm really happy - and relieved. This is the ONLY product I found with 5/8" spikes so I made it work.Depending on how heavy your furniture is and the shape of the end of the leg, the furniture could slide around. If that were the case, I'd add a thin layer of rubber or synthetic equivalent between the reinforcement and the furniture leg.

3/4” not 5/8”; does NOT hold chair mat in place
I bought clear double-sided tape as another review mentioned the adhesive tape doesn’t hold well and is unsightly on a clear mat like I have. The tape I bought holds great and was cheaper than the Gorilla brand. As for the product itself, these squares were easy to break apart and apply to my polycarbonate desk chair mat. Overall, they work far better than velcro or tape on the bottom of the mat, but my mat still moves.I have deep pile carpet so I bought the 5/8” size, which should have been perfect according to my paper clip measurement (my pile is exactly 5/8” deep); however, the spikes themselves (not including the platform part) were 3/4” tall and were far too tall in my deep pile carpet. They held up my chair protector everywhere they were and it sagged between them. In addition, the mat still moved. So, I ground the spikes down to 5/8” and tried again. It now works better than before, but my mat still migrates at least 3” both ways every day.I am going to have to drill holes in my mat and tie it between my desk legs to try to assist the spikes in holding it in place.

Work fantastic
These grippers are wonderful. I have some glass mats in the office that sit on carpet. I had been using: double-sided tape, then felt buttons to keep them from sliding, but nothing worked. I searched on this site to find a better alternative, and found these. Once applied, BOOM! the mat doesn't slide at all. Been several months and the mats are right where I place them. Plus, the clear plastic is much less obtrusive to the eye than the white circles of the felt buttons. Highly recommend these to keep your mats from sliding on carpet.

I used it on my lazy boy which has very narrow runners and they are holding securely and saving my carpet

Saves the carpet!
These are unlike other spiked carpet savers - these are so much better in that the height of the spikes means the furniture sits above the carpet and underlay and does not impact and compress - fantastic!
