Just what I needed for my ‘05 Tahoe z71.

Have the proper tooling before you buy.
Everything was of good quality. Koyo bearings I have read are reliable. Plenty of shims for adjusting backlash and bearing preload. And there is a booklet with detailed explanations on tools and technique included underneath everything. Too bad I found it after the fact. I highly recommend buying the proper tooling before attempting a rebuild. It is quite an investment, but you will need a clamshell bearing puller, dial indicator and stand, torque wrench in ft-lb, a dial indicator torque wrench in in-lb for pinion bearing preload, and though possible without but still recommended, a case spreader for removing the carrier from the housing and a bearing warmer to easily install the bearings. Well over a $1000 for all that from reliable brands. Also when setting up your shims, hone out your old bearings (or you can buy setup bearings) and have your old inner pinion race taken to a machine shop to take a few thousandths off the outside (or buy a setup pinion) so that you easily install and remove to add or subtract shims when setting your backlash and preload. It is very time consuming and a lot of patience is required. If you don't have the experience you will install the carrier four or five times to get the shims right, but it is not too difficult if you take the time to do it correctly. This was my first axle rebuild but I plan on doing more in the future, so it was worth the time and investment to do it myself.

Short summary: Parts are great and customer service is better - Thank you Troy!!! This is an amazing company. I ordered the kit expecting a baffle and pinion oil slinger to be included. Thinking it was an error (after turning my shop upside down thinking I lost them) I had ordered a replacement. That kit too did not have the pinion baffle or oil slinger. Discouraged, I looked at the packing slip and called the 888 number. Troy picked up on like the 2nd ring and took care of me! After explaining my frustration at the project and very willing to pay Troy is sending them out free of charge 2day delivery. Troy, you are tha man! I sincerely appreciate you and I'm just sad I didn't have the confidence to call sooner. I will be getting all my gearing equipment from Drivetrain America moving forward.

Solid rebuild kit
Good affordable kit comparably hammered at the races forever not even a blemish. Just wish I knew I could get the pinion kit included for a couple extra bucks love the kit just wish they showed me that added option before hand

Didn’t use inner pinion bearing, bought a nachi direct replacement as the one in the kit was smaller than what was in my Toyota 8” 4cyl. Everything else, mint.

Great pack everything as advertised.. plenty of shims.. Note: these carrier shims fit only on outer race, not under the bearing, and pinion depth shims fit only In the housing, not between the pinion head and bearing.. works for me and I would highly recommend this pack. all fits 97-06 jeep wrangler dana 44 30 spline.
