Great bell if you're going to have mambo LP salsa bells you must have a LP cha cha bell
This is great and although I use others bells especially JCR Percussion, I had to purchase LP bells they have ben around a long time. They sound very well, I'm happy with the purchase. Regards, ffsalsa.

Paired this up with a larger LP Salsa Cowbell and it matched up nicely. Higher pitch that is a bit open. Perfect for my needs.As with all LP products....well made and will last for a long long time. Very satisfied.Worth the $.

Meah... Not as cut throat as I'd like. The product build quality is great. No complaints there.Pay attention to the reviews that discuss application by volume levels. It won't cut through like a wood block or larger sized Cowbell in a large room or open area without mics. Pitch is high.. I've found myself asking, how high is tasteful?

Interesting sound for drum kit use
In Afro-Cuban music this particular bell has its own voice and is a very specific instrument. My review is going to focus on this bell in the context of an addition to a drum kit.This bell is much higher pitched than the traditional cowbells that were sold with drum kits back in my day. For one thing those bells were much smaller and had a very low fundamental pitch and not much projection.I like this one because it is higher pitched than the vintage ones I mentioned, as well as the popular LP Black Beauty Cowbell that most drum kit players are using today. One other characteristic is this bell does not project like the Black Beauty, but compared to the vintage bells, it's pretty loud. If you have good dynamic control you can play this from P to FFF. Also, there are over and undertones in this bell that are far more pronounced than in the larger Black Beauty model.If you are a Latin musician you already have an idea about how this particular bell sounds from the name. If you are a drum kit player who wants to add 'more cowbell' to your sound palette, you may want to try this and a few other models in person before making a final decision. This particular model fits the sound I am seeking for adding a touch of Afro-Cuban flavor to some lower volume music. For much louder music I would have probably opted for the Black Beauty.

LP Latin Cha Cha Cowbell
I already own another cowbell from LP and the quality is excellent.When I started to explore latin grooves this higher pitched cowbell from LP was a no brainer and i'm just as pleased with it.It has a lovely tone to it, which suits latin music perfectly. Nice and high pitched without being shrill or cutting.It is well made and the screw fitting to attach it to a stand is nice and secure.If you're considering a cowbell of this type then this is well worth considering and i'm really pleased with mine.
