Slim book, gets the job done
Up-to-date, includes both of Harry and Meghan’s children and all 3 of William and Kate’s.This is a very thin book, which is nice, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my already overloaded bookshelves, lol. Not a hardback, but not a paperback exactly, either. Sturdy. The illustrations are well-done and not cheesy, corny, or childish. A few historical facts about each time period are included with each branch, to help give a sense of the related historical period. I did have to laugh that the illustration of Edward VIII shows him in a golf outfit. The book does include photos of modern monarchs where possible.Includes an attached 2-page pull-out poster that could stay in the book or could probably be carefully removed to post on a wall for kids to see. The poster timeline includes the illustrations of the monarchs, not just their names and dates, which I think helps with remembering.Overall, a good option. I’m glad I bought this instead of a big poster for the same price.

This is a great timeline and general knowledge of the various and kings/queens
I was hesitant to purchase this based upon prior reviews. However it’s a very informative timeline for kids. This was perfect for my 9 year olds history project. This isn’t a story book, which I think is what people previous reviewers were expecting, but a timeline of the houses of power, and the monarchy of England and Scotland.

This is a children's book
If you are looking up serious and detailed information on a king or queen of England, you aren't likely to find it in this book. The paragraph per monarch is written in a simple style as if intended for children. In addition, the lineup of monarchs covered starts in the year 1066, the year of the Norman invasion (William the Conqueror). King Harold, who was killed fighting William the Conqueror, and his predecessors aren't really covered except for a very brief mention of Harold.I'm sorry I bought it.

Not a book!
I ordered this under the assumption it was a book. Its not - its a foldout timeline chart of the kings/queens and their times of reigns, with a tiny bit of information included. Definitely NOT worth $9.99!! Back to the libraries when they open again - at least then you can see what you're checking out!
