A Must Have for Barns and Homes
We live on a farm and would be lost without this product. Our summer was intensely hot this summer (heat indexes over 100) and we grew weary of turning fans on and off day after day. We found it easy to plug our fans into the outlet and it performed perfectly. This product I know has saved us money this summer because many nights I would forget to shut off the fans and they ran all night long. With this product the fans no longer run all night and the goats have their fans on consistently when they need it most. We really liked the fact that his product has two receptacles that let us plug in two fans. money by using power only when temperatures require coolingWe also have a similar product for winter that automatically turns on a heat lamp that is over our water facet coming into the barn. No more frozen water lines.

good product
Works as it should. We use it in the barn for fans on the horses. It turns off when it reaches temperature, so that helps on the electric.

Temp is not acurte but does the job.
As the title says, it takes it getting a little warmer to turn on and a little cooler to turn off, but it does the job.

TC-21 Thermo Cube
I purchased two units. One did not work properly and had to be returned for replacement. The good one seems to work as advertised. I use them to help ventilate my two sheds by turning on a fan to bring in outside air.

Defective item and the seller (StateLineTack) does not admit it
The one I bought does not turn off at 70 degrees. The seller StateLineTack does not want to issue a refund. Please see below the conversation I had with them. Ended up filing an A-Z guarantee claim.Me:The item is defective. It does not turn off at 70 degrees. In fact I could not get it to turn off at all.StateLineTack:Please advise as to what application you are using the Thermo Cube in so we can better assist you.Me:I'm using it to turn my A/C on and off. It does not even turn off at 68F, I just checked.StateLineTack:As stated on our website it works with all types of home and farm fans: window, ceiling, exhaust, ventilators, attic, and roof. Industrial ceiling, room, air circulator and table fans. It will not function properly with an AC unit due to the thermostat.Me:There is no indication that its use is LIMITED to the examples you gave. A reasonable person would assume that if a thermostat is supposed to turn off at 70F it will do so no matter what is plugged into the outlet it controls. This unit is clearly defective it does not turn off at 70F, not even at 68F. The thermostat accuracy is out of advertised values.StateLineTack:As per the description on Amazon, the unit is to be used with fans only. We can assign you a return authorization number if you wish, but the return shipping fees would be your responsibility as the item is not defective.Me:Again, there is no word "only" in the description. Secondly, I just tried it with my ceiling fan and it DOES NOT turn off at 70 degrees. How's it not defective?

Very helpful with chickens
I use this in the chicken coup during the summer with a fan, when Temps get up to 78 degrees it turns on, when cooler shuts fan ( or light ) off at 72. Controls anything you plug in.

Farm Innovators TC-21 Warm Weather Thermo Cube Thermostatically Controlled Outlet - On at 78-Degrees/Off at 70-Degrees
the unit i bought is the COOLING receptacle/thermostat, used to turn on exhaust fans at 78F and off at 70F. well, it didn't come on at 80F, and i let the greenhouse go all the way to 90F before i had to turn the fan on manually. i took the unit and warmed it up artificially to some temp above 90F by my stove, and then checked it. the thermostat was on at this point, but i'm not able to say how warm it had to get before turning on, just somewhere over 90F. i hoped that once i triggered it, i would work alright. it did turn the fans off satisfactorily when the temp dropped, however, the next day it would not turn on again at an acceptable temperature to me (~84F at the maximum), and i again resorted to turning the fans on manually. i thought about returning the product, but i read the directions on the carton, and there was a disclaimer in bold print stating:"Temperature ranges are approximations"so it was an experiment, and i got what i paid for. i would avoid this unit if you have delicate plants and critical temperature you need to meet, opting instead for an accurate in-line thermostat. on the other hand, it's perfectly fine for an attic exhaust fan where if it comes on even at 100F it still does the job.therefore, i won't call it junk, it just isn't accurate enough for my purpose, and i don't like it.
