It works. Good to Go!!!
It works and does exactly what I need it to do. Brew Coffee. What a concept. And you don't need a Training Class on how to use it and how many buttons to push and program it. I like my Coffee Strong and Hot, so I use enough coffee and a little less water. And you turn it ON or OFF. Amazing!!! It's almost like it was designed to do that or something. Good Job Mr. Coffee.

Great coffee maker
Easy to use. Doesn't have a bunch of gadgets you have to figure out. Just a regular coffee maker. I'm happy with my purchase. No k cups, no descaling, just makes coffee the old fashion way.

These work great but don't last long!
For the past ten years I have been using this 12-cup Mr Coffee model. I never turn it off... use it 24/7. They last from six months to just over a year. I have bought about ten, five through Amazon. It used to be the switch would fail (even though never turned it off), but I replaced switches and would generally get well over a year from them. Then, two of the machines (over the years) developed internal leaks, and I could not find the leaks from the bottom, but they were leaking. Two or three of the machines had heating coil failures. The price has continued to increase over the years, so I bought a 12-cup Black and Decker this time. I have owned it two days and I like it fine. The carafes are interchangeable with the Mr Coffee ones (I have a lot of those), so that's nice. I already ordered my second Black and Decker, because the price is great and I hate being without my daily coffee (hot tea actually). I throw two larger tea bags where the coffee filter and grounds go and make tea most of the time. For the second pitcher I throw one more tea bag on top and so, get two pitchers from three tea bags... the tea bags cost $3.25 for 24 bags, so I get 16 12-cup pitchers of nice strong tea for $3.25.

Basic simple and long lasting
So in my humble opinion, coffee pots shouldn't be as expensive as some of them are. Pour water over the coffee grounds and into a pot with a heating element under it. With that being said I have seen some coffee pots run in the Easley over $100 range. Now okay I understand if you want to have a clock involved so it can start your coffee for you, that's fine and I'm sure that'll cost a couple extra dollars, and if you want something really nice and prestigious looking because you care what your guests think about what you've spent on random items then yeah drop a hundred bucks on a nice one maybe it's stainless steel or something and has a good company logo on the front of it. Personally, I'm not that difficult. I get up in the morning I push the button on this thing and by the time I get out of the shower I've got a nice hot pot of coffee waiting for me and life is good. The only thing I wish this had and this is only because my previous pot did have this option is that if you don't turn this off it'll just stay on all day and you really don't want to cook that empty pot all day. There is a light on the button so if you're leaving the house and the light is still on yeah you might want to shut this off. And honestly after a couple weeks I got into the habit of making sure I shut it off as I picked up the pot to pour my coffee so it hasn't really been an issue, it was only a problem for a week or two because like I said my previous pot automatically shut off so I got lazy and just let it do its thing. So anyway, if you're just looking for something to make your coffee, and you don't really want to spend $50 or $100, I've had this for quite a while now and it works great. I do have well water which has a lot of extra minerals and crap in it so I do find myself doing a 50% vinegar solution which you pretty much need to do with any coffee pot from time to time but in my case a little more often... And other than that, I expect this thing's going to last me a few more years.

This Mr. Coffee Is Simple To Use, And Makes Good Coffee
So simple to use. I didn't want a programmable coffeemaker (don't need bells and whistles). Just a simple on/off switch. The coffeemaker is lightweight (don't need it to be heavy), and easy to move around the countertop. Pull away from the wall when making coffee, put back against the wall when done. It's a space saver for me. Easy to clean. And it brews good coffee. And of course most of all, good coffee comes from great brands of coffee beans. Hey people: buy beans from a really good company, don't compromise or settle for less!!! Only downside of this coffeemaker is that the basket has a flat bottom instead of coned-shaped, but that is a minor issue I think with this coffeemaker, so I still rated it with 5 stars. Thank you Mr. Coffee.

Plastic taste never went away!
*** updated 1/16/2021*** It’s been a few weeks. I tried one more time but the flavor is still there. Maybe it’ll go away but I had also purchased a pitcher that boils watet for tea and it’s great with a. French press we had that I forgot to use. This product I declare as junk for me and regret the purchase thus rating it a one star. I no longer have incentive to try again so it’s unlikely I’ll come back for another updated review. ******** I’m going to start this review off by talking about filters. There are cone filters and then there are flimsy filters. Until I went back to these flimsy filters, I never fully appreciated the cone filters and this will impact future machine purchases for me. Cone filters pack flat meaning storage is less invasive. The hood their shape and are less likely to spill and the won’t collapse when transferring to compost or garbage. It’s a little thing but I appreciate it. So, the point of all this, is that mr coffee uses the flimsy filters. Surprisingly there are a lot of machines that don’t use the cones, which is disappointing. First impressions: The plastic look and felt cheap. I saw reviews that commented about the cheapness of this machine and shrugged it off. Other machines are made of plastic after all. This plastic looks and feels somehow cheaper. I instantly had a negative association to it. The side windows which advertised visibility from both points was a selling point for me. What was failed to be mentioned is that you can’t read the clear numbers when contrasted against a black background or steam. I wrote the marks in with permanent marker to be able to see when filling. One feature I did like is that the spout moves out of the way and the lid snaps it back into place. Simple and elegant engineering. I would never clean these grounds out when hot though. Recipe for spilt grounds and burns. The prep It requires a washing and a single run to remove the plastic flavor, per instructions. I ran 4 times after I washed and before the first use. The plastic smell seemed gone. The usage The first cup seemed fine. Additional uses the plastic taste and smell crept in strongly. I ran a cleanse through it four more times and it’s still there rendering expensive coffee undrinkable. My wife felt like the first coffee had a weird flavor, so maybe I didn’t notice the first time? The fact we have flushed this so many times and the flavor persists is deeply concerning to me. I’ve owned a few coffee machines and never had this issue persist for so long. I’m going to keep trying and if something changes, I’ll update. I’d like this to be a good machine for me, but it’s not. The water heats quickly! This is a lot faster than my older coffee makers! The lighted switch is more subtle than I’d like. It’s a dot vs the entire switch, but in the end my wife and I turn it off after the last cup and it’s not an issue as we both stay at home now. There is no auto shut off. The drip stop works okay. A few drips will come out if you pull early, but it does stop while you pour a cup. A critical feature for my wife. The carafe pours well at an okay speed without dripping down the side. Some will leak if overly full and you have to pour slooooowly to avoid spillage. This seems better designed. This steams a lot and should not be under a cabinet when running. It WILL damage the cabinets. It’s easy to pull out and push back in. The summary: Would I purchase again? No. Even if the flavor fixes itself, I have concerns about the cheapness of this machine and the plastic used and the health impact. I couldn’t find anywhere that discussed if it was bpa free. I hadn’t been concerned because sunbeam owns me coffee, but after seeing and feeling the cheapness of the plastic, and with the plastic taste still present, I’m concerned. It is cheap, the functionality seems good for just a weeks ownership, but the lack of drinkable coffee is an issue. Even if that’s resolved, there’s concern in the back of my mind about the long term health impact of this machine. Hopefully this is helpful. I’d recommend spending more money as I feel I wasted $28 and will be purchasing a new coffee maker, again.

Trash product. Two defective makers in a row, still waiting for a refund
If it worked properly the coffee machine wouldn't be that bad. It is bulky, made of cheap plastic, unattractive, but it does the job for the most part. Condensation builds up on the underside of the cover which spills onto the counter every time you open it. There are no features, just an on and off switch, which you'd think is fine for the price but even other coffee makers at the same price have several features. That being said, the first one I got leaked from the bottom. Every time I made coffee there would be a pool of water on the counter. I asked for a replacement, which I got. This one worked for about a month and then the switch started coming loose, and then stopped working entirely. I asked reported the problem and they offered me yet another replacement, to which I was skeptical but accepted. Then after waiting for over a month I wrote back asking for a refund instead of a replacement, which they said they would do. Two more months went by without a refund so I ping them, now they're saying they want me to send in the last defective machine to get a refund. If you're looking for a cheap, straightforward coffee maker, get a different one. For $40 you expect something cheap and simple that will work, not to have to deal with awful customer service for months. Not only that but like I said, in the $40 price range there are better machines out there. I should also mention that the customer service was directly from Mr. Coffee, not Amazon.
