I cut the opening in the 2005 to make it work.I imagine on the correct fit this is a good camera to choose.It’s not bad in my install - works and pictureIs clear for backing up.RAV4 has the most annoying location so far to the side of the car. Makes the guidelines useless

Unfortunately it doesn’t fit as snug as the O/E license plate light so it shifts and causes the camera to be at an angle.The bulb stocky is quite a bit smaller the factory so that needs to be modified to fit.

This was not a simple snap in and go as it seemed like it might be for a Toyota RAV4. First, I had to fix the hole where the light plug goes into the black case. I had to create slots on the case so you the plug be pushed into the case and turn, so it would not slide out.Then, I discovered when I tried to snap the whole case into place that the plug sat too high for it to fit in the area where it was supposed to fit (the plug was hitting the top). The original hole in the OEM piece, plugged in at an angle, but this one sits perpendicular to the back. So, I ended up having to actually trim the plug down.Eventually I got everything to a point where it fit, but it took a lot of work.

The video output is good quality. I wish that the camera could be angle more centered as the license plate is offset towards the drivers side.

The picture is crystal clear both day and night. Wish they had one to replace the existing camera in my 2008 Tundra that would fit in the tailgate handle like the OEM one.

Great camera quality, however didn’t fit quite right on my 2006 rav4, stays in place though so it gets the job done
