This is a story of two watches. The story started like most, starry eyed mom wanted to surprise her son with a cool watch for his birthday. She saw said cool watch on Amazon. You see the son, inherited her love of watches. So she isn’t just a buyer she too loves watches. Well the Orient with the champagne colored face and blue hands caught her eye. The son must have the watch the mother thought and ordered it from Amazon. She tell’s her husband, the son’s father, we are giving the son a watch for his birthday. The father rolls his eyes does the son really need another watch, he only has two arms.The watch was bought and fulfilled by Amazon and came on a mailing envelope. The mom noticed the outer cardboard shell box was a little beat up but what do you expect in the mail. Well the son’s twenty sixth birthday arrived and the mom presents the son his present. He opens it. Hmmm,,,, no tags, no sticker, the watch looks rough and there is a scratch on the lug. The watch actually looks kinda used or returned after being used. Even the watch pillow was rough. ONE STARSo the mom contacts the buyer and Amazon since it was fulfilled by Amazon they take care of it. Give the mom a full refund. She immediately order the watch again. At a twenty dollars savings. The first watch is returned and the new watch arrived and has no scratch, it has it’s tags and stickers and is new. YayMoral of story open box inspect Gift before you give it.It is truly a beauty watch that mom may steal from son, since she does have a spare key to his house. :-)Second moral of story lock your watches up!

Beautiful looking watch. The light gold dial is very attractive with indigo (?) colored hands that contrast with it and make it very easy to read the time. The sun and moon moving dial besides making the watch interesting to look at, makes it easy to set the watch for the right time of the day - AM or PM. The crystal is sapphire which is a great value for the price of this watch. It's back is covered with acrylic crystal to display the innards of the watch. It comes with black leather strap that is a bit stiff but still comfy on my wrist. I will however, change it to a NATO strap instead. The watch has 21 jewels and the seconds hand sweep quite smoothly (But not like a Rolex :)). It does not quantify the level of water resistance. It simply states "water resistant". For safety one needs not to expose it to rain. My guess is it is a 3 ATM rated (30 meter/99 ft.)

I have to echo the sentiments expressed by reviewers before me—it’s a beautiful timepiece. Wearing it to work the first time, I felt like I was dressed a little more audaciously, despite the fact that my clothes were the same old clothes I’d always worn.I was hoping that the champagne-colored dial would be a tad darker and more of a gold-ish hue, but the subtlety it possesses actually makes it appear less flashy and more expensive.The shiny black strap this watch comes with ensures that it’s meant to be worn as a dress piece. I don’t anticipate changing it.Setting the time, date, and sun/moon function took some getting used to, since the instructions are impossibly difficult to decipher.Overall, though, I’m glad I made this purchase because I needed a dress watch, and this one is beautiful and functional. What more can one ask?

2 things keep me from giving this watch a 5 star rating. 1. When you set it, the second hand does not stop. Thus you can set it to the second. 2. Instruction manual is not model specific and the print is terribly small. Otherwise, I am excited to receive this watch and am looking forward to showing it off during the holidays. It is the best, most unique looking Watch I have in my meager collection. The dealer is also first class. I asked him for a delivery before Thanksgiving and he delivered. Thanks to Pass the Watch.

As others have pointed out the watch has very nice details and is easy to set. The instruction manual is very useless and it has a microfont. I have very small wrists and this is the first watch I have ever owned that I didn’t have to either remove links from the metal armband or add holes to the leather band. I will update my review after wearing it for a few weeks.

This watch is gorgeous!! No noticeable delay or time change for weeks. I did change strap to a Barton leather strap and looks amazing!!

This is a beautiful timepiece but not showy. I had a Rolex Two-tone Datejust, for more than ten years. it had an error of two minutes in one month. The jewelry dealer, told me, that was normal, for a mechanical watch. I hadn't checked this watch for a long period of time, but in more than one week, it didn't lose time, checked with my phone time. I learned that the Orient's Mechanical Movement are extremely accurate, due to about 75 years of manufacturing mechanical movements. Don't hesitate to buy this watch, It is a good choice.T.Reyes .

The Watch is very beautiful and impressive. Still new, so,yet, I do not have any knowledge on its reliability. The leather strap is a bit stiff and not the most comfortable on the wrist (will be replaced) and the watch is thick, but it really does not bother me. The watch face has mesmerizing detail. Overall, great buy.
