Guide for Being Human
Great books not only steal your heart and mind, they take the words out of your mouth and leave you with nothing verbal to cobble together. You're left in peaceful silence and it's hard to write a book review with a quiet mind, yet here I am.Robert Augustus Masters has lived up to his name - and reputation - of knowing just what we need in his newest book. This book is for all the anxious, depressed, overthinking, performance anxiety-ridden, co-dependent, screen-obsessed, confused mess of a human beings out there. Your Shadow is the parts in all of us that we push away and try to squash with food, alcohol, phones, and every other tool of avoidance out there. His book is a guide on how to bring your mind out of the dark, make a cushion for it, and make friends with it.Highly recommended for everyone!

A Whole Hearted Validation of the pain and glory of being human.
I found this book to be in essence deeply Spiritual, but in a way that I and so many people I know have come to appreciate. By dignifying the pain and suffering of our human condition, rather than pathologizing or transcending it. By understanding it clearly, and gathering the courage to move toward and through it. I have consistently found that True LIberation is a natural by-product of the author's approach, which includes all of who we are and leaves nothing behind. I highly recommend Bringing Your Shadow Out of the Dark. Even if you only take the title of the book to heart, you will be deeply benefitted!rather than applying every self-help technique we can in an attempt to eliminate or

WOW
Honestly when I read the first couple chapters of this book I thought it was nothing but fluff. I wondered how it got so many great reviews. Everything seemed so trite and obvious and surface level. THEN - I kept reading and WOW!!! It is truly one of THE BEST BOOKS I've ever read. And not only for doing shadow work but also for just plain dealing with life and all it's ups and downs. This is one of those books I'll return to again and again and again! - Truly a guide for living.

Address something that each of us has and often do not understand
Robert Masters has written about our shadow side, we all have one. To be able to identify this in ourselves is important to really have personal freedom. It will help in our being able to be in a more positive relation to ourselves and others. It helps to appreciate others as we learn about ourselves.

Import book
I finally understand what this whole business of “the shadow” really is all about, thanks to this book. I don’t think I ever really had it right until I read this. Maybe the best primer on the subject you can find.

Leveraging what lurks beneath for transformation
Transpersonal, human potential, relationship building, enlightening. And in the last few chapters unapologetically liberally democratic blabber about the emotions of nations and lands. Still very helpful. Especially chapters about pain. I totally get the explanations and exercises for getting in tune w our woundedness and working through it. This is super powerful for relationships with loved ones and enemies.

The finest book on shadow work in the market today
In my NLP language, the Shadow Work of Robert Masters (Bringing Your Shadow Out Of The Dark) is about how to talk to and integrate Parts (Inner Child, Inner Critic, Inner Saboteur etc.) using Perceptual Positions, plus Submodalities: becoming cognitizant of and working with the qualities of pain (directionality, texture, temperature, colour, density, intensity and shape of the pain) for the Purpose of Identity-Level Transformation.Basically its about healing and transforming core wounds, and the finest book on shadow work in the market today.

repetitive, and often trivial
mostly terribly obvious stuff that you find in any odd personal development book

Powerful, wise and sensitive
In the last two years, I have read a lot of books that come under the category of psychology and Spirituality. This is one of the most powerful, wise and sensitive books I have personally come across. The author has been able to explain and simplify concepts which seem so complicated and up there because of the way other so called experts talk about these things.
