Am interested in building a small boat. This book simply explains the process of building one. built a raft once and it floated as long as I stayed off it. LOL. We will attempt to make the small skiff boat for a one man duck boat.

This book offers 16 small boat designs, so there is plenty of scope to start your journey. Depending on your background you may need other books to get to grips with nautical, mechanical and carpentry terms.

This book is difficult to read. I am not a boat builder but the letters are not very bold, and the print is small.

Purchased for my husband for Christmas.... he has always wanted to build a wooden boat. He loves that this one has some actual plans that are good to consider as a beginner. He notes that you'll probably need a couple of different books to compare and gather info, but this one is an excellent one to start with. I would consider that a 5 star review from him. I always update if there is anything important to report. I will say the book arrived with a folded corner and not "packed" in any way, along with other items I had ordered. That part was a little disappointing.

Probably not what your looking for unless you know how to build boats.There is a lot of info here that requires study of other source materials to even have a clue what he's talking about.The drawings are not good in this format. Perhaps they can be seen better on a large computer screen.

This is a fun no-nonsense old style technical how-to book. Some things are very dated but for the mist part extremely interesting to those of us who like boatbuilding. This is a book I would seriously consider buying on paper rather than kindle as I find referring to illustrations and plans frustrating in the electronic format.

I doubt I'll ever build a full size boat, but the plans are perfect for building scale models.

I'm looking for another design to build a larger boat. This one was my first and it employs a stitch and glue method. Non of the designs in this book call out that method. These are all Framed and built upside down to start. Nothing wrong with that its a great way to do it. The book plans are not easy to read and understand for the first time builder. That can be overcome. There is lots to think about before choosing your design and this book helps with that!

A great book.

This book was delivered quickly and completely intact there wasn't a single thing wrong with it and the person I gave it to loves reading it and plans on using it as a guide to make his own boat. It's the perfect gift for a boat lover especially if they're planning on building their own boat. The instructions are simple and easily understood. This book is great.

I really enjoyed digging around in this very helpful but limited in scope
