I've waited for this for years. How can anyone get so excited over an alarm clock? Well, here's how...I'm a light-sensitive sleeper. Any light keeps me awake. So, for the last 5 years my 'dimmable' alarm clock has resided under the bedside cabinet. It was the best I could find. On the lowest setting, it still disturbed me. If I wanted to know the time in the night, I had to roll over and lean out of bed to see the clock under the bedside table. As a little appendage to the story, my career compelled me to adapt to a 24-hour clock. So on to the product. Easy to set the time & alarm (the instructions are on the bottom of the clock in case you lose the leaflet). It can be powered by USB or mains (plug provided). The alarm becomes more insistent the longer you leave it. Just press the hour button for 2 seconds and it changes to 24-hour clock. But best of all, the scroller wheel control for brightness really does go down to next to nothing. Top setting is very bright - on its very lowest setting, you can just about make out the time in the dark. Perfect! My alarm clock is now on top of my bedside table, it's small it's light enough for travel, it has a 24-hour clock and the brightness of the display does not disturb me one iota. Heaven!

I bought this when my ancient alarm clock gave up on me.Very east to set - which is always a bonus!I like that the display brightness can be adjusted but found it a little disconcerting that to read it during the day I would have to adjust the brightness up!Not a major issue as it’s in the bedroom so not used during daylight hours!The first night I had the brightness set for daytime and at night it was like Blackpool illuminations! Easy to change but a bit of a surprise!I like the fact that there is a battery backup as it was always annoying with my previous clock to have to reset the time following a power cut!I like that it’s a big display as the old eyesight is deteriorating so handy that both I and my husband can see the time clearly at night!

Order for use as a permeant clock to sit in a room. Really easy to set up despite having few buttons. Attaches to mains power, which is very handy as offers ability for charging. The backup batteries is also very handy for when the power goes out, only note is; the lights go off on the clock when running in battery mode. But you just need to hit a button for the time to light and show. I would not class this as a travel clock as while very light, is a little on the large side for a travel clock. However, looks lovely and works well. The brightness is adjustable and even when the sun is shinning on it, with the brightness up higher, the time can be easily read. Big numbers help for seeing from a distance. I would recommend particularly if you are just looking for a simple and easy to work clock. Though I haven't tried the alarm setting on it as yet.

Very happy with this purchase. We just needed a mains powered LED clock to replace an old red LED clock that died. This is perfect – looks good, the time is clear, and the illumination level is easily adjustable. Very simple to set up. Can't comment on the alarm or USB ports as we won't be using those!

I bought this to replace my ancient 1980s clock/radio/phone which finally gave up the ghost. I am very short-sighted and so needed a clock with big numbers that I could read in the dark without my glasses, but I didn't want the numbers to be too bright. I also wanted a mains-powered clock.This little clock is perfect for what I need. The dimmable display is excellent and on the darkest setting the numbers are large enough for me to read without my glasses, but not too bright. The two USB ports are very useful and I keep my phone and my Kindle charging overnight.The clock is very easy to set - and there's a video available online if you get stuck. The alarm could be louder, but as I have my phone and tablet, I prefer to use the alarms on those instead.There's an optional feature to add backup batteries in a small compartment at the back, as well having the mains connection, but I've not put batteries in. The clock is lightweight and easy to knock over, so I may put a small plastic bag of nails or screws into the battery compartment to add a extra weight.Overall, this clock is very good value for money and has lots of features that make this a very useful addition to my bedside table.

We just wanted an easy to use and most importantly, dimmable bedside clock and this Is exactly right for us! So easy to use and the dimmer wheel function is superb. Highly recommended

Was trying to buy a cheap alarm clock.. Turned out that the included PSU was UK plug, and was not changeable, so I had to order a $30 power supply to power it.. All in all, I would have been better off buying a locally equipped one with more features as this one ended up being twice the price I planned...
