Disney Princess Merida Brave Girls' Bow & Arrow, Tan/Purple

This was so cute with my Indian women costume. I had to make a couple little revisions, but it was just what I needed. Didn't want anything too large or expensive. This worked perfectly.

"My daughter loves 'Brave,' so this was a must-have. She was thrilled with it and plays with it frequently, always leaving it around the house.

2 yr old DD has been asking for a Brave archery set for a few months now...Santa is going to be giving this to her for Christmas this year. :-) I bought this set (because I'd read that it was small) AND the official set from the Disney Store (now available online after months of being sold out). Good thing I bought this set (I paid under eleven for it, free shipping; check during business hours for the lowest prices)...it will work well for her for the next couple years. She doesn't have a whole lot of arm strength and is careful, so I figure this will last for at least 6 months of daily play, in which case, the item will be well worth the price I paid.Even checking the measurements and all, this set still surprised me by how small (and cute) it is, so I've uploaded some product pics so you can get a better idea of scale. I've posted with a measuring tape and a dollar bill (about 6"). You can also see that the set does come packaged with images from Brave on it. The dark brown accents on the bow are actually a dark, murky purple. The whole bow is also covered with a glittery glaze. I recommend this product with reservations. If you want a little plastic toy designed for looks, not performance, this is a good costume prop but the price seems a bit high. I wonder if the toy makers ever actually tried it because it doesn't work well or stay together. The bow string is encrusted with glitter, so nocking and shooting the arrow gets glitter everywhere. The bow string popped out of the notch on the second use due to the notch design and too-small knots in the string. So I retied the knots and fixed the string. About the arrows, on the positive side, they are safe for little kids since they barely shoot. The thin, bendable plastic shafts were crooked right out of the package strapping. There are no fletches; feather or plastic, for any pretense at accuracy. The suction cups are the molded, less-flexible type that don't stick well or keep their shape. I didn't expect professional quality but I did expect it to function--the product description on the web site states that quality materials are used to make Disguise products. We will have to get another bow and arrow set so the 4-year-old can get some play target practice but will keep this set for the Merida costume.

My daughter wanted to be Merida from Disney's Brave, we bought the dress, the wig... but she loves the this bow the most! (the least expensive of the 3)

I bought this bow for my daughter. BIG mistake. She was going to wrap tape around it to change the appearance of the bow to o compliment her costume. It does not work. The bowstrings is more like a flexible pipe cleaner. Would not recommend.

My three year old turned into a professional archer in no time. It lasted probably five months but she was rough with it. Need to buy another ASAP. Great gift! Highly recommended

Bought this for my 8 year old daughter and is a lot smaller than I assumed it would be. The string looks fancy, but isn't elastic or have much tension, so you cannot really luanch the arrows with suction cups on them. This size would be great for toddler. Just for looks.
