Mixed bag, could be usable by some
3.5 stars rounded down.I was looking for something other than my smartphone (with a destroyed earphone jack) to listen to music while walking, driving, and testing audio equipment during refurbishment. This device was promising based on specs and reviews, but only serves my third purpose well.Pluses: 1) Very good sound quality when given a good music file such as a FLAC made from a well recorded CD; 2) Nicely compact and light; 3) 16 gigabytes of internal memory can hold a lot of lossy music.Minuses: 1) Can't read the screen outdoors during the day; 2) Can take several swipes or taps on the screen to get one user interface selection to be recognized; 3) Can't play ogg or M4A files over Bluetooth - that is most of my collection as ripped from CD; 4) Doesn't read artist/title or other metadata from M4A files; 5) doesn't combine metadata from internal storage and micro-SD card, I have not gotten it to read metadata from files on micro-SD at all.Note: Despite not getting track information from M4A and not playing it over Bluetooth, it plays M4A to its headphone jack just fine.If you want something for indoor use, wired headphones, and play by folder rather than artist/album/genre, this could serve your needs inexpensively. (MP3 and FLAC metadata are read OK and can be played by metadata browsing.) My refurbishing use does match these limitations and I can tolerate the unresponsive user interface. Good sound quality (low noise, flat frequency response) is very important for testing a vintage receiver and speakers. This was a lot cheaper than replacing my phone. But it is unusable to me while walking, and poor for driving.I'm keeping it for refurb and as a backup for in-car use (wired only). I subsequently bought a superb FiiO M5 for walking and driving, at almost 3x the cost of this. FiiO is too expensive to risk on the refurbing.

It couldn't the only thing I wanted... shuffle play a stack of MP3s.
There are lots of features to this device, but since there is no documentation (to speak of) with the device or that I could find on line, some of the really basic things one expects from the player were either outside my grasp to make work, or those features were broken. I've had many players of the years (from Creativs, Sansa, etc) so I'm not a neophyte, and I've tried over the last two weeks to get something simple to work... I load a set of MP3s and shuffle play them, or at least try. It would play one and then stop... and not just stop but require a reboot. Sometimes I got it do play two or three, but then again it would stop. I kept thinking 'it must be me', so I tried all sorts of variations, but either this player can't do a basic 'play a list' or I'm profoundly missing something. Either way, I'm going to return this device and move on.

Touch Screen Froze after 1 week
I purchased this item for my wife. It is a Mahdi M260. The first one arrived with a broken clip right out out the box. Amazon customer service was top notch and replaced it immediately. After about 5 uses of the 2nd one, the touch screen Froze. Tried the typical hold the on and volume up buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds to reset, that didn't work. Tried multiple button combinations, none worked. It looks like it resets as I get a Welcome Screen, but it just wakes back up in a frozen state. No web based help or manual. Must be the Chinese getting back at the US because of the tariff disputes

No music to my bluetooth headphones
Pretty useless. Won't send any music to my Bluetooth headphones (MPOW 059. Great headphones). Works with my plug in earphones but so do all my other mp3 players w/o Bluetooth. My phone works great with my BT headphones. Very disappointed.

Good, but......
Excellent sound quality with the wired earphones... near perfect. But, the sound with my otherwise well tested Bluetooth earbuds was bad. Also, the touch control is a bit difficult given the size of the screen, the tiny lettering, and my big fingers,

You get what you spend
Overall does what it's supposed to do...although I'd probably have spent a few bucks more to get a better quality one. The controls aren't the greatest.

Has completely failed
This unit never really worked well. It was unresponsive much of the time to user inputs but would eventually react. Sometimes in an unexpected manner. I never could get it to record FM so I had to make a workaround. The protective case that came with it broke almost immediately. The player has now failed completely. Don't believe the YouTube review.
