I've been using these journal refills - dozens of them - along with Oberon's beautiful leather tree of life journal cover, ever since I got it nearly 25 years ago. I love the journal cover and refills as much in my forties as I did in my teens.The journal cover and its many refills have accompanied me all across the United States and Europe, spent years altogether in my overstuffed backpacks, and they have been easily durable enough to handle it. The cover still looks like new even after all these years of much harder use than I ever would have voluntarily put anything through. It's one of my favorite possessions. It's become a source of comfort and stability writing in it all these thousands of times - wherever I live or travel, whether I am single or partnered, if I'm living it up or scraping by, whatever may be happening in my life, I can use this same familiar book to write about it and sort out my feelings, thoughts, and plans. this is where durability becomes exceptionally important, because if it were at all flimsy or delicate it wouldn't have lasted anywhere near long enough to have this sort of anchoring quality in my life. It really is the little stuff that makes all the difference.If you love really fine quality stationery and you need something that can handle being schlepped around non-stop under often unforgiving circumstances, Oberon products are the way to go. (The leather journal cover is a great gift for the 17-year-old in your life... They might still be using it in their forties.)

This is the same insert that came with my Oberon journal cover, so it fits perfectly. This insert is the best quality I have found and I have tried several brands. Some don’t lie flat, some don’t have durable covers, some smell. Oberon refills are perfect, even if you are using them without an Oberon Leather Journal Cover.Pros:-High quality paper; perfect thickness and surface texture-Lays flat when open (smythe sewn)-Pages don’t fall out-Cover is durable, even when not used inside the Oberon-Comes with a template to put behind the pages if you want to write, instead of drawCons:-Can’t buy at a store, but that’s not a big deal since I can order from Oberon or Amazon with Prime.Don’t bother buying cheap sketchbooks at craft stores. The covers start peeling and tearing off (actually tearing off!). This one doesn’t do that. They do have good sketchbooks at craft stores but they are either spiral bound (cover WILL tear off) or they are hardbound but don’t lie flat when opened.The Oberon is archival quality. Your sketches will be protected for years and you can keep your filled ones on a bookshelf, to look through later.After you try this and love it, I recommend ordering one for now and one for later so you always have a new one ready to go.

I use fountain pens religiously and this journal is stellar because the ink doesn't bleed thru like cheaper journals. My only request is that I could lay it flatter without cracking the spine and that it came with a way to keep it closed in my bag since I'm not using this as an insert. I can't afford the leather cover but I am going to try to decorate the outside and the cover is sturdy.EDIT 2019. I left my journal in the rain but I can still read what I have written. That is a miracle considering the fountain pen does not use waterproof ink. Thinner pages would have absorbed more water and it would be wasted year. Yeah you can get them cheaper at micheals...and they will be cheaper in function.

This journal is exactly what I needed! I’ve recently started my path in Wicca and needed an inconspicuous and sturdy journal to use as my Book of Shadows. This journal is hardcover and black, and full of blank pages to write on and a removable page with lines in case you want to use it to write straight on the blank pages. Besides what I’m using it for, I could see this being perfect for someone who wants to create a bullet journal, or write poetry, or doodle, or use as an actual journal. The best thing about it to me is that it feels like a real book in my hands, which makes it more meaningful as my Book of Shadows. I’m very happy with my purchase and will definitely buy another when my current one fills up.

This is my fourth time ordering the blank books. I've just ordered three as working from home has increased my journal time.They fit the journal cover perfectly.I got the first book and beautiful leather cover as a gift about six years ago, and love having the journal to write in every morning. I "blew through" one journal insert already this year! Started it March 1, finished this morning. Thank you for a beautiful, useful product!

This is a perfect fit in my large journal cover by Oberon Design! I love the thickness and quality of the paper. Unlike with moleskine notebooks, I never have a problem with ink bleeding through. I would definitely recommend these books either as standalone journals or as refills for refillable journal covers. I'll include a couple of pictures of how it fits in mine.

These are awesome journal refills for a variety of purposes. The paper is fairly thick and quite smooth. It takes colored pencil and pen very nicely without bleeding through. This refill fits perfectly in Oberon Design leather journal covers and has the Oberon Design logo embossed in the back cover. I have several Oberon Design covers (they are expensive and worth every penny - my oldest I've had for 15+ years and it's still as gorgeous as ever) and these refills are perfect for them. I've tried a few alternative fillers, but I always go back to these for their fit and their paper quality.

Originally came with an Oberon journal cover I bought some years ago when I started to keep a journal. I've kept using because they work so well with a fountain pen (I use fine and medium nibs) and are such high quality. I have no issues with ink bleed or bleed through. Love that the pages are blank as it opens up my creativity and mind :)Outstanding quality and superb service. Look forward to buying more and using for many years to come.
