Extremely Smooth Gentle Shave
I got into DE shavers with a common starter from Walmart. I appreciate double edged shavers because I have thick hair and multi blades clog very easily. With that said I liked mine and after a year or two my basic shaver was falling apart so I decided to upgrade. First using this I noted the solid and slightly heavier feel, and obvious quality but it was the shave that impressed me. At first I thought it was entirely too gentle, not realizing how rough the other brand had actually been, but then noted I could shave downwards and upwards with ease. It was when I finished and noted not a single usual few nick spots or any burn what so ever when I applied some aftershave that I realized what a quality shave it was! I felt zero burn and not a single knick or raw spot even shaving both ways. Highly recommend

Same as Merkur 34c but with gold-plated elegance
If you can afford it buy the Merkur 34g instead of the 34c. Both work well. I own a Merkur 34c ( chrome) and this Merkur 34g(gold). Both are identical except for one physical attribute; the gold plating. The gold plating makes this one a work of art and the most eye-pleasing de razor I own. Be gentle with gold plating as it is very thin and will wear off quickly. only use micro fiber towels and dish soap to clean. No metal polish please as this would quickly wear off the plating. 10/10 rating. —————-Wet-Shave Process-. wash face with soap, dry the face, use a pre-shave oil and apply six drop of it soften beard stubble. gently masage oil onto stubble. Start making lather with a synthetic shave brush. I use Proraso Shaving Cream. Apply shave soap lather to face and work into face for 2-3 mins. put new de blade in your Merkur 34g and tighten handle to secure the blade. run razor head under hot water to warm up blade. proceed to shave with the grain and don’t shave anywhere 2 times as you shouldn't shave over bare skin of your face. This is a mild razor so wash face off after the first pass. Apply the 2nd lather of shaving lather. rinse razor head off with hot water to remove any existing shaving lather and beard hair particles . Shave a second pass gently and let the razor’s own weight glide over your face. Complete by rinsing the face off of all shave lather with cool water. dry face with towel. Apply aftershave such as nivea aftershave lotion. Done

Female weighing in!
After falling in love with an ad on instagram for a website selling safety razors, I knew I had to at least give it a try. I seriously dread shaving my legs because it seems like no matter what I use it always seems to hurt and never feels great afterwards. I also hate spending 25 bucks every couple months on razors that only provide a great shave the first two times I use them. So I searched on Amazon and found this, and I realized that this is the exact same razor being sold on Ouishave for way less. I watched Youtube videos because it was a little intimidating using something so different but I am so glad I made this purchase. Its way easier than I thought and it is a very nice addition to my beauty routine. It's heavy and well made, and the result is super soft! I have way less dark hair follicles and my legs actually feel smooth. I think its definitely time for women to graduate from Venus.

Best shave yet!
I've been using a safety razor for a little over a year and this particular Merkur razor is the 4th razor I've bought so far. The others are the Merkur slant bar, Merkur classic 3 piece and a 1939-47 Gillette Fat Handle Tech from Razor Emporium. Apparently I have small bumps around my jaw and mouth that can't be seen, but that a razor will cut through and cause bleeding. The slant razor is supposed to be good for certain things, but a razor that takes a certain amount of skill to master due to its tendency to cut the skin. I had a lot of problems with that razor nicking me so I had to give it up. The Merkur classic 3 piece is great razor that didn't give me any problems nicking my face. I use it for business travel since I need something reliable that won't make me walk to the hotel lobby with a bloody face. I bought the Gillette since I wanted something with a classic look. I paid twice what the Merkur's cost and it definitely wasn't worth it. Every time I shaved I would cut myself in 3 or 4 places. This morning I shaved with the gold Merkur classic 2-piece for the first time and I think it gave me the best shave I've had since I started using safety razors. I'm used to having to go over my face twice when I've gone more than a few days between shaves, but this razor handled a 7 day beard with only one pass and no nicks. Perhaps the blade had something to do with it as well. I normally use Feather razor blades, but I recently bought the sampler pack of 2 blades from a number of different companies from around the world. Today I was using a blade from Bic.

Classy, effective razor - the best I've ever used
This gorgeous two-piece safety razor is my first real, metal safety razor. Switching from disposable, hot pink, overpriced, plastic, multi-blade, nick-inducing Venus Gillette razors, I expected a big learning curve with this one. However, it's so simple to use, elegant and well-weighted. Upon my first full time using it in the shower, I had a nice complete, clean shave without a single nick! As a not so overly aggressive razor, it's ideal also for delicate regions. I'm absolutely in love with this gorgeous, effective, life-changing razor and want to get everyone I know and care about one of these as a gift!I wasn't paid for this review; I just really, really love this classy, effective razor and cannot stop telling my friends about it!

Heavy, but Beautiful Safety Razor
The headline says it all. I found the handle too short, otherwise it is a well made piece of safety razor handle. I use it to shave my head at least 2x / week. I expected to get a lot of cuts. To my surprise, I have not got any after two uses. A lot better than disposable razor. The problem is that I have to shave about 3 times in order to have a real clean head shave and its short handle tires my hand very fast. It seems better suited for face- shaving than head-shaving. I am not sure the rationale for the short handle. I would prefer a long handle.
