MXL 57 Microphone Shockmount (Black)

I bought a mic from this brand tears ago. It came with a stand adapter that does not dampen vibration noise. I have not used it yet but it seems well made and good for the price. I expect it will work well.

I would have given this 5 stars except overall it feels a little cheesy, granted it was inexpensive (much less than a Neumann) but it feels like it could break easily (the build quality is not confidence inspiring).Also, if you don't use this with a lightweight microphone cable then the vibration travels right up the cord negating the noise-reduction benefits of the shock mount.The mount that came with my V67 cracked right away so I bought this shock mount as a replacement, it is functional and inexpensive.Good music to all.

So I bought 4 of these to use for my 2003a's but also for my Neumann tlm102, since the Neumann shockmounts are ridiculously priced. It does a fine job for each. Aside from having an artist hit the stand with their hands in a close mixing situation I've never had any low noise rumble pass into the mic, even the tlm102 which is very very sensitive. the only piece I worry about breaking is the adjustment dial, but I'm pretty confident that by fully loosening it before making adjustement I'll get a long life from it. After probably 2 or 3 dozen uses its holding up perfect so well see. Take that neumann!

Nothing special here. It does get the job done for large body mics. It isolates some of the noise that comes from the stand. It is a standard spring type of clamp around the body. It does not fit perfectly, but it holds the mic and absorbs some noise. If you need a quick and dirty shock mount without spending a fortune, this will get the job done.

I went with another reviewer's advice that this also fits their V63. I second that!

I gave it 5 stars because it's a perfect fit for my MXL Condenser microphone. It's very attractive; flexible where it's needed, rugged overall. The black finish makes it aesthetically pleasing and hints at the look and feel you would expect in a large production studio. I'm almost certain that they will be a perfect fit in my home studio.
