Best Popper Ever
So many rave reviews have been written about this product, I thought adding one more was pointless. However, I am so impressed with this popper I just had to add my comments. We followed the directions and stood in front of the microwave expecting something to go wrong. In just 60 seconds the first kernel popped and within 2 1/2 minutes the lid was lifting with big fluffy popped corn. It is so crispy with only a few unpopped kernels in each batch. I had planned on using olive oil to pop the corn, but it wasn't necessary. Instead, I sprayed the popped corn with olive oil spray and sprinkled it with salt. We had a Whirly popper previously and used 1T of olive oil for each batch so we are saving a huge amount of calories and fat grams plus it's crispy and light. It is truly the easiest product to use and it cleans up in a snap. We've made at least ten batches so far and the paper power cup is still holding up. The power cups are sold in packages of 8 and they aren't that expensive. I think it's a small price to pay for the great quality of corn this popper produces. It's way more expensive to buy bags of microwave popcorn in which you have no control over what you are eating with all the "goop" the kernels sit in for who knows how long. Plus, the Presto PowerPop is safer to use than popping corn on a stove. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is serious about producing great quality popcorn. Thank you so much, Presto, for creating this product, AND thank you, Amazon, for such prompt delivery!!!! We love our popper. NOTE: I should mention that we get these great results using our 1100w microwave; our older microwave (less than 1000w) takes 4 1/2 minutes and leaves about 1T of unpopped kernels.Update: We are still enjoying this popper for over 10 months now and it's still going strong with great results. I want to throw out a question to other users or maybe the manufacturer if anyone is monitoring reviews. Has anyone tried to make kettle corn with this popper? I'm so tempted to throw in a couple teaspoons of sugar but I haven't because I don't know if it will work. We don't use any oil, just the olive oil spray when it's done popping. I'm afraid the hot sugar might damage the popper. I'm hoping someone out there is more adventurous than me and knows the answer???????? Thank you!!!!

Fabulous Corn Popper!
I used to use the Nordic Ware 12-Cup Microwaver Corn Popper. I thought that I was happy with it - unil I received my Presto multi-popper. I pop popcorn frequently; I've used this product several times since I received it about a week ago. The popcorn tastes great and nearly every kernal pops. The seasons even seem to 'stick' to the popcorn better mmmmm.... flavor! This suits me because I eat popcorn for a light, high fiber 'gourmet' snack that I can try with different oils and seasoning. I like popping it myself better than bagged because I can use Splenda to make kettle corn flavored popcorn and a medium amount of oil rather than either extreme. If I save money too, this is an added bonus. That said, I checked eBay prices before buying the popper and found that I can buy concentrators by the case really cheap, so it's no biggie for me. As an added benefit, my Presto popper cooks popcorn in 1 minute less than my Nordic. If you're looking for -quality- popcorn and don't mind replacing the concentrators when they turn brown (after 2 to 4 batches), then go with this one. If you hate the idea of replacing the paper concentrators, then go with the Nordic Ware container (available also at Target and Wal-Mart stores). I think I'd only go back to the Nordic if I ran out of the concentrators, but otherwise I personally have no use for my Nordic anymore. Some reviewers reported microwave problems. The paper concentrators do have technology of some sort in them, so press them fully in place before microwaving and replace them whenever they look brown. Mine is buried under popcorn oil and 1/3 cup of kernals. I have a 1000 watt microwave with a turntable. I'm currently using a new bag of yellow popcorn. I heat it for 2 min and 30 sec on high (as compared to 3 minutes 40 sec with the Nordic). I'm also careful about removing any traces of oil as the instructions advise. I'm guessing this has to do with the way it heats. I haven't had any problems; in fact I get -perfect- popcorn each time. I'm not sure what was different for those who had problems. As advice, keep in mind that this popper is different in how it uses heat. As the directions say, when the popping slows down to 3 seconds between pops - stop! Kernals continue to pop after the microwave stops, don't wait until the popcorn stops popping. Don't use the microwave setting for popcorn. It does hold heat, so sometimes I'll dump the kernals into another bowl to release the heat and stop the cooking process. If I want the popcorn to stay warm longer, I'll leave it there until I'm ready to eat. This is really an impressive piece of technology.

It pops nice popcorn!
I like the popcorn it pops but the plastic is very thin, unlike the previous one it replaced after 20 years. What I do not like is every 3 batches I have to change the power disk that goes in the bottom because it gets a hole in it. This never happened on my older version, they lasted for at least 8 batches. Other than that it works fine - Next time I will buy the more expensive one.

Best Popcorn Maker Ever
So easy to use and it makes great popcorn. The trick is to make sure you add the salt when you put the kernels in. This way the salt actually sticks to the kernels due to being popped with the oil. For some thing that I eat every day, I’m happy that this popcorn maker exists. The only thing I need to say is that they need to include at least a months worth of Presto plates when they sold us popcorn maker. The Presto plates are very difficult to find an online that cost a fortune.

Watch the timer
Oops 100% better than those silicone ones. It they pop too well and I wasn’t watching it, and therefore burnt the first batch. I owned one of these years ago and have always loved it. And for the people who complain about the little paper liners that have to go into the bottom? Just make your own. I’m sure there’s some thin matching cardboard around the house somewhere. Use your imagination and quit complaining. This is by far the best bowl I’ve tried yet
