It works but can be fiddly at times
It seems to work well if you use it for usb mouse/keyboard and ethernet. However, when an external hard drive is connected (even a standard external hdd), during data transfers I observed a lag on the keyboard and mouse. Hypothetically if the hdd were running at full speed i.e. 200 MB/s and ethernet at full speed say 100MB/sec, usb c still should have roughly 600MB/s headroom. It does seem that sabrent is the bottleneck here.

Sabrent has done it again
I ordered 3 other USB hubs before I ordered this. My primary requirement was to have an ethernet jack and few usb ports to plug in my keyboard, mouse and game controller. As the 2.4 ghz wireless usb doesn't work in close proximity to usb 3; the other hubs didn't work for me. But this one did and I see no issue.

Works perfectly with 2017 MacBook - Gig Speed Ethernet, yes!
This replaced 4 different usb-c connections to my 2017 MacBook. I have some low power devices plugged in: keyboard, mouse, camera and Ethernet. Ethernet gets full gig no problem and no drivers. I used Velcro straps to mount this to my laptop stand and convert it into a skunkworks mini-dock. Like!

Complete waste of money
This item does not work at all. It constantly disconnects and reconnects. It also reduces the functionality of connected devices, such as my wireless keyboard ceases to work correctly and it will not charge my iPad. I would return it, but I bought it in March and was unable to test it until now. Complete waste of money.

Works great!
I needed an alternative to my laptops Ethernet connection as it wasn't working. This works a treat with an additional 3 usb3 connections. Perfect for my needs!
