May I ask where it is made?

i bought mine 5 years ago and it was made in Japan, we use it everyday, it has boiling water in it 24/7 for the past 5 years and everything still works. i even over fill the water a lot of times

Does this Tiger have the same issues as the Zojirushi where the lid disinigrates over time (around 1 year) (and has to be replaced?)

I have a different model of Tiger hot water pot. The plastic liner in the lid started disintegrating after 10 years or so.

Can I fill it with the tap water? Does what type of water to fill it matter?

The type of water can matter, but if you wanted to fill it with tap you can. I would just have a plan of how to clean the calcium buildup that will accumulates, in it, from tap waters. Rinse it with vinegar once a week is what i did.

What are the hour selections the energy saving mode have? or, how long does the energy saving do? thank you.

There is no hour selection for energy saving mode. Based on user guide, if the mode is selected (will be displayed), it will enter energy saving mode if the pot is not used for ~two hours. (Lower down the setting temperature). It will exit energy saving mode immediately once you start pouting out water.
