12 VAC Transformer, 36VA, 2.1mm x 5.5mm Barrel Plug, 12vac 3a Power Adapter, Wall Mount

It does the job that the original transformer stopped doing - powering our halloween fiber-optic lighted pumpkin.To get the original plug to fit into this barrel outlet plug, I squeezed the 2 ends of the original together so they would maintain contact with the inner and outer metal parts of the new adapter plug.I am not sure why these manufacturers use AC-to-AC transformers to power items with what could easily be a DC motor (to power the color-changing wheel) as well as the halogen lamps - which I replaced with LED lamps. AC-to-DC transformers are half as expensive.This one is heavy, but it IS a 3-amp transformer instead of a 1-amp.

Did exactly what I wanted it to do. The transformer that came with my fiber optic Christmas tree was way underpowered and ran very hot. I replaced it with this and it runs perfectly.
