One of the most important attributes of a knife is the steel used. This knife uses 8Cr13Mov, which is a budget stainless steel with mostly good qualities like being durable and reasonably rust resistance. The only negative of this steel is that it does not have very good edge retention, and that means that if you cut a lot of boxes or thinks like that, you might find that it needs to be sharpened before knives with higher grade steels. On the positive side, this knife should be easy to sharpen. Other than that, this is a decent all around steel.Despite the steel, I really like this knife. It is well made and appears to be very sturdy! It is a hand full of knife too, with an excellent grip. The knife is a frame lock knife, and the frame lock has a very large tab on it that makes unlocking it a breeze. The action is smooth though heavy, but this would likely lighten with use.I was happy to see that this knife appears to use bushings rather than bearings in the pivot. When bearings are used, they easily pick up dirt and become rough. A busing can be very smooth when broken in and they require much less maintenance.This is a big knife that could do light kitchen work, or be a utility knife in the yard. It has a great hold, and handles well. It is easy to cut yourself with some smaller knives but the grip here is substantial and can keep your fingers well away from the blade.This is a crazy amount of knife for the money and in spite of the 8Cr13Mov steel in the blade, it is a steal at the price offered!

The size is amazing and the way it is very easy to carry and comfortable to wear either on the inside or outside of your pocket I keep mine clipped to my belt and it doesn't move but is easy to grip pull and flip. The actual knife blade is very rugged and will pierce threw a thick pare of gardening houses and Ive even cut through thin pipe pieces. I would strongly recommend that you keep your lanyard on the knife it's works great when you're hands get wet the lanyard is long enough to loop around your thumb and the rest of the lanyard wrapped around your fist the knife handle is well made and the rosewood handle completes the whole piece. It's comes razor sharp and easy to use and open. There aren't many 5inch folding pocket knife blades like this. It's a great quality and value this blade will not disappoint.

OK, I bought this knife after reading Mr. Dixon's 3-Star review. I'm fairly handy and can fix most anything so based off his assessment I thought I'd give it a shot too. I'd say Mr. Dixon hit the nail on the head. Except the one I received was pretty sharp out of the box. But you know it's always the luck of the draw. All the screws faily loose which was OK as the first thing I did was to completely disassemble it. Gave it a thorough cleaning to remove all oil, used boos butter on rosewood grips and then reassembled using loctite red with a proper torque. Overall it's a really nice knife for the price. It's just over 11 inches opened. Nowhere does say made in China on the knife but the box it comes in does. But who else would be using 5Cr13Mov steel? This is a fairly soft steel. The good is its easy to sharpen the bad is you'll have to do so often. I do like the feel of it but I have big hands. I do not need the blade assist to open it as I can easily open it with a flick of the wrist and with practice you probably could as well. I'm not saying it opens easily its just something I learned to do in the ARMY with my Buck and Scrade and those are quite hard to do. But this big heavy pops open nicely and locks solid. You'll also receive a lanyard with a pin attached which I removed. I pin is the permanently lock the blade open if you decide to carry in a sheath. But then why would you buy this beast. Well worth the $25 I paid.

Strong, good quality, smooth opening. Much larger than the average pocket knife but no more difficult to carry. Solid blade with a good edge.

This knife holds up well and is great for my everyday carry!

I own HUNDREDS of folding knives...... From 5 to 500 dollar knives. I own knives with just about every steel ever offered for folding knives..... I carry at least 3 knives on me every day. Point is, I know pocket knives and I know steel, and I know quality vs lousy flea market/gas station knives.Pros:For the price you are getting a hair shaving sharp knife made with a big fat chunk of decent budget steel. 8cr13mov steel is pretty good if heat treated well......Which this knife CLEARLY is. I beat the hell out of it today and its still sharp where other knives with this steel would not beThe lock up is solid AF. This is a liner lock and it HAS NO blade play at all when in the open position. A very rare thing for even expensive liner lock knives. This also has the rarity of a liner lock that sits at 50% when open...... Super rare.It looks pretty nice and comes with a lock pin you can insert if you are planning on thumping on this thing.The blade is big.....I wish more knife companies would make knives with 4+ inch blade knives. I'm tired of all the teeny little sissy knives.Cons.It's heavy AF..... I didn't weight it but even for a large folding knife this is heavy. Not the end of the world but it def wants to pull your pants down.Even though the lock up is super solid, the liner lock itself is pretty thin. It shouldn't matter much because if you are going loony on the knife you have the lock pin, but still.The ergonomics aren't the best. It has a pretty square grip to it and the pocket clip is a definite hot spot when gripping the knife. The liner lock while being easy to actuate is so prominent that it makes the front finger groove pretty uncomfortable.Overall I can't complain enough to give it less than 5 stars with a price under 28 bucks. It's def worth more than that if you ask me. Especially how incredibly sharp it came from the factory.
