I love these shoes.
These shoes are great, timelessly stylish and very comfortable. I read in other reviews that the fit ran large, but this wasn't true of my experience. I was apprehensive of placing my order after reading about other's fitment issues, so I went to the mall and tried on another style of Clarks shoe in my size and found them to fit correctly. I felt confident these would fit similarly, so I placed the order and was right. I wear a 9 in athletic shoes and an 8 in casual or dress shoes; I ordered an 8 and it fits perfectly. Im just guessing, but maybe the reviewers who found that the fitment large mostly wear athletic shoes and didn't consider the sizing difference when moving to a casual shoe. As others have described, the finish of the beeswax leather is not as shown in the picture, but more a chocolate brown out of the box. I've now been wearing these for about three weeks and can say that over said time the shoes are beginning to develop finish comparable to the one pictured, and that I can see them looking just like it with future wear. All in all a great shoe, they go great with jeans or chinos, and are as comfortable as they are stylish.

but couldn't find anything as comfortable as my Clarks Oxfords
I've got clown feet... size 13 wide. I also work in a business casual environment and need shoes that work w/ my slacks and a button down shirt. This is my second pair of Clarks Unstructured shoes. I've got a pair of lace-up cap-toe Oxfords, but I know that you aren't supposed to wear the same shoes day after day (they need a bit of time to dry out), so I picked up these. I tried 2 or 3 other pairs, but couldn't find anything as comfortable as my Clarks Oxfords, so I ordered these. They feel broken in as soon as you put 'em on and feel even better 2-3 days later. The soles are amazingly light for dress shoes. I'm giving up and only ordering Clarks Unstructured for work. High quality, attractive and comfortable (plus they offer a wide size). What else do you want?

Need a little wearing in
My Trekkers arrived promptly downunder prior to Xmas which was a great effort. I was concerned about some reviews that say the sizes are generally larger but I have found that the size was ok from my point of view, but I did make some allowance for this. I have purchased other US size 9s that have fitted me so I went a 1/2 size smaller and they fit well. They are a little hard to put on as what is effectively the tongue comes up quite high on your foot by comparisin to other styles of casuals. As you wear them more, they become easier and it's nothing the old shoe horn can't fix. Also, they are a bit stiff first up because the leather is quite thick and of good quality. After 2 or 3 decent wears, they soften and become much more comfortable, so give them time. I have a narrow foot and I have no concerns about the width. All in all I am very happy with my Trekkers and I would recommend them . It's a bit of deja vu for me also as I had my first pair way back in '73 and I loved them then too. N.B. The Beeswax leather on my pair is much darker than shown on the the photo. Hope this helps.

Is it a review or a confession?
I recently bought a pair of Clark's Bushacre Beeswax Desert Boots and a pair of Clark's Vulco Spear Moccasin Boots. After reading a lot of buyers' reviews about sizing, I bought the desert boots a half size smaller. They fit perfectly. So, when I bought the Vulco Spears, I bought a half size smaller, too. Again, a perfect fit. I've been eyeing these Desert Trek Beeswax shoes for a long time. The style has been around for a long time. I had a pair when I was in high school and loved them, and that was 47 years ago, but they were the suede ones. I couldn't go suede again because they get dirty too easily and, although I like good shoes, I don't like worrying about where I'm tromping around in them. Therefore, the beeswax finish is perfect for me. But I digress.... When I ordered my Desert Treks, I ordered a half size down because I'm thinking Desert Treks = Desert Boots, right? Well, that didn't quite work out this time. I had to send them back for a half size larger, which is actually my true shoe size (I think). Amazon was awesome regarding the return. I went online on a Thursday to set up the exchange and I got the correct size I needed the next Monday and they were almost $18 cheaper. I don't understand why that made a difference but if you've purchased shoes from Amazon you've probably already noticed that little quirk. But, again, I digress.... These Desert Treks are very comfortable, the width is great (no toe-scrunching), and the crepe soles provide a lot of cushioning, which is missing from my Bushacre Desert Boots. I have no arch problems, but note there's no internal arch support in these shoes. I've used Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative on my Desert Boots and loved how it's taken care of them. I wear them walking my dog every day through dirt trails and among lots of sticks on the ground and the exterior of the boots is holding up very well with no scratch marks. But I'm not sure I'm going to use the leather preservative on these Desert Treks quite yet because I want to see if I'm down with the distressed look I hope they'll get. Just out of the box they're already a little lighter in color where they crease when I walk. But I think I'm going to love these shoes. They have a classic look and, since I'm old and don't have much hair anymore, I like to have my casual shoes make the "statement" that my hair used to make.

Not horrible...but not as good as hoped either.....
Based on previous reviews about these running big, I ordered my 'normal' size 11 knowing a bit big is far better than a bit small. When the shoes arrived, they were very snug. I had to return and order a half size larger. (good thing Amazon's ordering/return system works so well) Receive the 'right' size as promised. The shoes are pretty comfortable but do have a few quirks. First off, there is a slight pinch on the top of the big toe where the leather bends while walking. Secondly, there is a decided 'pop' in the leather with each step, again in the toe area as the leather bends then relaxes with each step. I'm hopeful that once worn a bit, both issues will remedy themselves. The shoes are very nice looking and I've had several compliments on them already. The toe pinch does seem to be going away and I hope the popping sound does as well. The shoes appear to be very well made. They are not light as the sole seems to be very durable. All in all, I'm glad I ordered them as I expect them to be great shoes. Just not the slipper feel I'd hoped for, but are very comfortable none the less.

Excellent Brand and Product
In my biased opinion, what more do i have to say other than "CLARK'S". They make and great quality product. About me. I am a heavy person with flat, very wide feet. I cannot purchase regular shoes or sneakers from let’s say foot locker or similar stores because of this those shoes cause havoc on my feet. And, that is if i can even fit their shoes on due to how wide my feet are. I usually have to order online or drive out to NJ to a high end shoe store for quality shoes. I usually buy Clark’s for $200-$250 a pair in the store. It’s nice to find them on amazon for cheaper. The Clark’s brand is for those with jacked up feet like me. They are true to size and provide superior comfort comparable to other brands. They are the mercedies benz of shoes with regards to quality. I highly recommend. i am more of an oxford shoelace style shoe person but, i wanted to try a slip on. Wow. they are perfect. And the leather is very good quality. i am buying this same shoe in brown as well.

Do yourself a favor and purchase two pair NOW!
These are my favorite shoes and I plan to order a second pair to store just in case Clarks ever decides to stop making this wonderful shoe! They take some getting used to and you have to have a break-in period but you will not be sorry if you are patient. When they first arrive, the leather is very VERY stiff and I had some trouble even getting them on. The first day, I could only wear them for a few hours, the second day a little longer and by the third day, I was wearing them through the day. Now, a week later, they are my daily shoe. I do use a heal insert to help with plantar fasciitis but even with those in, the shoe fits true to size once it is broken in. As to longevity, this is a replacement pair for me. My previous pair lasted three years then I wore through the sole, however the leather upper is in perfect shape so I may re-sole the shoe one day for a back-up pair. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fun and comfy shoes
Okay, I like, and recommend them, but go with your true sizing when ordering. I read the reviews of others and regrettably took their advice in ordering a size smaller. I take a size 12, but ordered a 11.5. I couldn't get the 11.5 on my feet, so I exchanged for size 12 which fits me just fine. The only drawback is arch support (none), and the crepe soles tend to be a little heavy, but I'm okay with that. These are classic originals designed back-in-the-day, no fancy schmansey anything. These shoes are cool, fun to wear, and comfortable right out of the box. Go for it!
