I am absolutely obsessed with my newly customized Joy-cons (and matching kickstand and dock plate from the same company)! The colors and the duochrome finish are absolutely beautiful, and bring my Switch/setup to a new aesthetic level. The fit was perfect; zero complaints about anything being out of place or needing to sand or stretch anything.The video tutorial was extremely helpful and easy to follow, even for a novice like me with no electronics modification experience. Be warned that you need to be gentle, careful, and patient, as the process is rather tedious and time-consuming, but the results are well worth the effort. Overall, though, I was expecting much worse. I actually enjoyed the experience! If you have never modified electronics but are detail-oriented and accustomed to working with tiny parts, don't even think twice about it--just buy these and go for it.My only complaint would be the screwdriver/bits that came with the shells, as they aren't great quality and can strip the screws. I bought a different set of tools for the Switch for $8.99 on Amazon, which included the necessary Y00 and PH00 screwdriver bits as well as a prying tool and fine-tipped tweezers (ESSENTIAL).I am so happy with my purchases from this company, and will definitely use them to mod some more of my consoles in the future!

These joycon shells are awesome and super high quality, which is probably the most important part. They are cut to fit just about perfectly. I say "just about" because I did run into a small problem on the left joycon. When I would tighten the screws all the way on the outside of the joycon, the L button would stop working. It worked when I loosened the screws a bit, but was seemingly too tight and rubbing against the shell. I ended up taking a small and fine nail file and filing down the part of the shell where the L button sits just ever so slightly, tightened the screws back up to my satisfaction, and it worked perfectly after! So, unfortunately that was a minor inconvenience, but not a big deal and my new joycons were still totally worth it! I absolutely love how these ones change color! They're beautiful and I am so satisfied! I have never modded anything before and was pretty unfamiliar with this kind of stuff, but was able to do the shell swap myself! Just watch some YouTube videos to guide you along and be patient. It will take a couple hours if you have never done it before. Also, just a word of advice, be SUPER careful not to strip those outside screws. You'll avoid a major headache. I was lucky to be able to get them off easily, but have heard that that is the most common issue people have with these shell swaps.

First off, looks amazing. Better than the pictures show. Secondly, they come with everything you need (so no need to buy extra tools or anything). Follow a video when swapping everything out for the first time!My only complaint is that one of the back plates is slightly warped enough to keep the joycon from feeling flush when attached to the switch. Not a huge deal but still annoying.

I love love love this switch cover set. I bought the matching cover for the console and these covers for the controllers. My husband installed them for me and apparently it wasn't too hard to do, but he did have to watch a tutorial online a few times and struggled a bit.The covers themselves are great quality. Ive had them on my switch for about a year now and they have held up really well. They wipe clean easily, they haven't gotten scratched at all and the color hasn't faded or worn down at all either.These switch cover plates are well worth the price!!

This modification takes a LOT of patience! It took me about 4 hours to complete and there were plenty of frustrating moments mostly due to the fact that many parts are tiny and I always ran into clearance issues in attempting to get everything back together. But the results do not disappoint! The shell I got has a unique color-shifting effect that I quite like! And I do appreciate ExtremeRate giving the necessary tools for the modification as well as a few replacement screws and springs just in case any get lost.

Nicely made but the tri-wing screwdriver tip included broke on the second screw so I can’t change anything out until I get a replacement screwdriver tip.

These were exactly what I expected. Absolutely beautiful!!! I will say that i would not recommend this to most people. If you are not comfortable taking apart really really tiny electronics then this is not for you. I actually didn't quite know what I was doing and even with a tutorial video I managed to break the ZL ribbon cable. That's my own fault though and I did purchase another cable so I should be able to fix it soon.I will admit that my original joy-cons were experiencing horrible drift. Since I was going to have to take them apart to change out the joysticks anyway I decided to also change the shells. I never would have thought about doing this otherwise. I figured if I mess up and break something, these joy-cons were already broken so it wouldn't be too much of a loss.These shells are really beautiful, but they can be a lot of hard work!
