This stuff works really well as a deodorant. It is the best I have ever tried. You put a tiny amount in the palm in your hand maybe the size of a nickel and apply a little under each arm. Give it a minute or two to dry. It does not leave stains on clothes, I plan to see if I have an empty roll-on container that I can place this in or get a small jar with a scre top lid so I can carry a small amount. I had recently ordered a 3 pk of natural deodorant and I really was hoping it would work. I had tried more than one store-bought natural deodorant was not really impressed. I would make my own and they last a while and then I’d have to reapply them within a couple hours. I had read that milk of magnesia could be used under the arms. I was like what? I tried the sniff test several times no odor. After 24 hours still no odor. Two hours later very faint odor. In the past, I made my own homemade deodorant, but that only only lasted so long also. I then had my girlfriend’s boyfriend try it. Turned out he was using the same natural deodorant and having to reapply it often 24 hours later I asked him how’s it going and he said still no odor and he had not put new deodorant on. I used Phillips milk of magnesia. Just make sure you get an original and unscented milk of magnesia. I’m sure there’s different brands. do your own research and check ingredients.

I have been using this brand of milk of mag for about 20 years on my face as an oil production stopper, I put my moisturizer on first as well as an oil and then put this on and my face is matte for most of the day, if I don’t use this my face gets so oily so quickly, I’ve never had a problem with it as long as it’s the original formula and not the flavored kind. Worth a try if you have oily skin

I like the price. It was very reasonable.

Next time I'll only order the mint flavor. On occasion I use this for constipation and I absolutely can't stand the chalky taste of this original type. I will say that it's a great product though and works well.

WARNING: DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE KIDNEY PROBLEMS! MAGNESIUM CAN BE ABSORBED THROUGH THE SKIN!I was initially interested in this product not for its original purpose, but because I had heard it was good at controlling oily skin. I've tried EVERYTHING and said to myself that this would be a less expensive option. So I purchased this item and waited anxiously for it.My routine in the morning is, I wash my face with my Mychelle White Cranberry Cleanser, then tone and moisturize and apply a very thin layer all over my face. At night I cleanse, use my serums for oily skin, tone, moisturize and apply a thin later before bed. Now my Mychelle products were good with getting the oil off my face (DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE MY MYCHELLE PRODUCTS!) but the Phillips REALLY keeps the oil from my face for a long time. If I wash my face around 8 a.m. usually I'm an oil slick by noon, but not with Phillips. I'm matte pretty much all day. Now it does not stop ALL oil from appearing but it does improve the overall look of my face in terms of oil production.If you're going to use this product for oily skin remember these tips. 1. Make sure you purchase the Phillips ORIGINAL. Do not get a flavored brand. The flavored brand has sugar in it and that screams breakout alley to me. 2. Before you apply it to your face, SHAKE VERY WELL! Now when I shake well the top of the bottle usually has a creamy texture so I just dip one finger in it (again you do not need much unless you want white streaks on your face) rub it in my hands and coat my face with it. 3. You don't have to worry about sweating and there being milky white drops streaming down your face. I've never had this problem. 4. This item smells like....nothing. It really does, so for those who are sensitive to smells you do not have to worry about that. 5. It's excellent as a face primer for the women who want to wear foundation or concealer. (I've actually stopped using foundation, just concealer but this could be a result of using the Mychelle products AND the Phillips) 6. I've never experienced a breakout because of this. It has really helped my skin tremendously.How Does it Work? (brief explanation)When the Milk of Magnesia is on your face it dries as a powder and absorbs the oil through a process called osmosis (movement of solvent molecules into a higher solute concentration to create an equilibrium). It acts as a high concentration of a solute so anything being absorbed or dissolved such as sweat, dirt and oil will go from your skin and onto the milk of magnesia therefore creating an equilibrium. Skin can be very acidic and oil loving bacteria love acidic environments, so they live in your pores, clog your pores and create pimples. Milk of Magnesia contains Alkaline Hydroxide ions that neutralize the acidic environment on your skin. Milk of Magnesia also acts as an anti-inflammatory and calms the skin and body which can decrease stress-related oil production.Now while this may work for myself and many others, all results will vary.
