Great little unit. Very quick and responsive, love the audio. The level of pre-loaded bloatware isn't too bad either. PLEASE NOTE the Windows 10 Pro upgrade and 3 years free of McAfee keys are on stickers on the outside of the box. Took me a hot minute to figure that out. If you want 3 years of warranty with Accidental Damage Protection then look at HP sku#U9YT3E. This i7/16GB RAM/1TB SSD kit which comes with a sleeve and stylus pen is a great value at this price point.

Gets really hot, fans don't help - google "Spectre overheating"
This laptop just runs hot. I've worked with HP, updated all software and drivers, even sent it in to replace old hardware. Nothing changed, although HP claims it shouldn't operate this way. In my humble opinion, this laptop is packed too much with nice specs for such a small, thin laptop. It just cannot handle itself and if you want to spend money on something you will have for more than a year or two, then buy another laptop. I wish I didn't buy this, you don't get enough for what you pay for it.I've had it for less than a year. It's always had a problem with overheating. It gets way too hot to actually put on your lap and the top of the keyboard can get so hot that you can't touch it for very long. The fans run like crazy, but they don't actually help control the heat. I always shut it off before it shuts itself down from overheating, but I know it would have on several occasions. Also, to be clear this always happens when I have the windows mail app open, or even just a few tabs using google chrome. It can even happen when I have no applications open at all.The ONLY way to prevent this is to go to the HP Command Center (app) and put the laptop into Quiet Mode - this will basically tell the laptop to cut performance to prevent it from generating as much heat, which should limit the need for the fans. ---- Fair enough right? Well, but why would you spend a lot of money on a laptop with good performance that is only usable with cut performance.
