Gel is superior to ballpoint
I bought the ballpoint refills thinking they would extend the life of my favorite parker pen, and was sadly disappointed that the refills were not nearly as good as the original. These gel refills were quite the opposite - smooth, clean, no bleed, drip, or goober. Exactly what I was wanting since I use my pen every day. The black color is dark and easy to see, no need to push down to aggressively so that it is visible - light and responsive application. Because it is Parker brand, it fits the pen perfectly - I would avoid buying the cheap knock offs here - just not worth it. How long it will last will depend on how often you use it, but I use my pen every day and only just today replaced it after buying these last year

Ink refills
Excellent refills. Ink is bright and drys very quickly.

Much better than the ballpoint
I got the gel refill for my Parker jotter after getting more into some gel pens for note taking recently and it is a far superior writing experience than the standard ballpoint that comes with the jotter. There is no blotches and you don’t have to test the pen to get it working. One thing I will say though is while writing once I dropped the pen-tip down-which I know is not ideal but that made the pen unusable and I had to switch refills earlier than expected.

A refill that always performs well and has added safety protection
I have used this Parker Gel refill product for many years. I was told a number of years ago that using a gel pen when writing checks is a safer way as the check cannot be altered easily. The parker pen is such a comfortable pen to used and I write with them all of the time. I own at least four or five Parker pens so I keep a number refills on hand. Writing quality:Good and darkEasy to useWhy did you pick this product vs others?:Very satisfied for many yearsLongevity:Long lasting

gel refill is absolutely BLACK...wow
I was looking for a Parker refill that would write darker than the standard ballpoint refill and this gel refill is absolutely BLACK...wow. I did a picture of the GEL refill compared to the ballpoint pen refill and also the standard Parker blue refill.I would absolutely recommend this Parker GEL refill to anyone who wants a very saturated black gel ink.Note this GEL 0.7mm refill writes a little bit wider than the ballpoint pen medium 1.0mm refill.

Now plastic not metal - won't retract
Cheap product from China. Barrel is now plastic rather than the original metal. The bottom section is a little fatter and now sticks when you attempt to retract the tip. You can work around the problem by pressing the tip onto a hard surface after you've clicked the retraction button. The refill does this in multiple Parker Jotter pens that I have. In one of the two cartridges, the ink stopped flowing smoothly after a few weeks and began 'dropping out' while I was writing. I ordered again, thinking it might have been a fluke. No joy. Both had the sticking issue and one of the refills never would write properly. Parker used to stand for quality. It's really sad how far they've let the quality drop.
