Review: New DVD covers - A while back I was trying to save room and put my DVD's in plastic sleeves that would go into a binder. It worked out until I changed my mind again and I like seeing all my movies displayed. So slowly been buying these covers and putting my movies back in order. The covers work. I do wish they'd have a second disc holder for the movies that had more than one disc in them. I did have to trim a few covers that were the old hard cardstock covers, those don't give or fit as easily. Over all I'm happy, and will be purchasing more.

**Q: i would like to know before i buy these if they are the thick dvd cases , like u buy from a store**
A: yes they are. they are 14mm which is the regular width. I've used a lot of them and they are of decent quality. not super strong, but better than the recyclable ones they sell in the stores now. no, they are not the thin ones. regular dvd width.

**Q: do these have a FIRM "click" when shut?  i am buying them for a film festival library & they will get repeated usage.  MUST close solidly.**
A: Plastic - good. Black - not so good.

**Q: Does anyone have the inside dimensions? I am producing a booklet from 8.5x11" paper (letter size) and folding in half.**
A: I can tell you that for the cover that slips under the clear in the outside my dimensions are 7.25" x 10.8". I can get an exact inside measure when I get home tomorrow.

**Q: How's the disc situated in the case? Can you move/spin the disc around with your finger or is it fixed in-place? Does the data side touch the case?**
A: The disc is held in the case the same way as in any pre-recorded DVD that you purchase. Yes you can spin the disc with your finger, and no the data side of the disc does not come in contact with the case. I have used these cases many times and find them to be of superior quality to the ones that pre-recorded DVDs come in.

I had a bunch of old DVDs that were in CD jewel cases. I wanted to get them into proper DVD cases, so they would properly fit on my DVD shelving. The reviews for most of these cases was pretty poor, but I took a chance on these Maxtek DVD cases. I have recently been purchasing a lot of my favorite movies in DVD, to have a physical collection. I have been pretty disappointed in how flimsy the OEM cases were. I was expecting these Maxtek cases to be worse. Imagine my surprise opening the amazon box and pulling out these cases. They are definitely thicker and more robust than any of the 20+ OEM DVD cases I recently received. These are also nice for replacing the dumb OEM DVD cases with the flap closure. When I pull one of these cases off my DVD shelf, it also pulls out the DVD case to the right. Dumb design. I highly recommend these Maxtek DVD cases.
