My Happy Pumpkin: God's Love Shining Through Me

We own a number of her books and consider this to be the poorest. The story starts off well, but in the end fails to meet its goal. This issue is her explanation of the connection between the jack-o-lantern and the gospel message - it is very weak and not clearly explained. This means the parent or teacher has to put in a lot more effort in explaining everything Then the focus on obeying did not seem to connect to anything else in the book and seemed to imply the Christian life is about merely obeying - but obey who? Not out favorite. I wish I had been able to read the different versions of the jack-o-lantern to gospel message and picked which one was the best. I am torn about keeping it or returning it because I don't know if the other books would be better or worse.....

Such a cute book! The kids loved it!

This is a wonderful book that takes the traditions of Halloween and relates them to our savior and His love for us in a way that even children can relate to. Even as an Adult it made me smile because I had never looked at it in this way. The story and the illistrations are both wonderful and I would have to say that it is definatly one of my favorite children's books

I was first introduced to this series of books last Christmas. There are several Christmas ones that explain Christmas trees, presents, etc. I was very excited to see they had one for Halloween. It is hard to not get carried away with the holidays, but this brings it back to the Christian view without being preachy.

This is an adorable book which brings God into a holiday largely devoted to celebrating the creepy/disturbing/evil. Sweet rhymes and cute illustrations make this book a welcome relief and a joy to read to little kids!

I love this book. A nice way to provide kids with a positive message about pumpkins instead of jack-o-lanterns.

In anyway I can incorporate Jesus into any lesson I will!!! Serving God is fun!! This book brings out in a small way fun Christian view of pumpkin carving!!! Love it!!

I love Crystal Bowman's books - I've bought several for my grandkids! They always have cute, appealing illustrations and are a great teaching tool for parents to use in teaching about God's love!
