Highly recommend.
I have worked in the automotive and agriculture fields for over 8 years as a mechanic. I worked for a high end private country club for 4 of those 8. I just have to say this is a great product. Having to tap the head causes wear over time and they can loosen up and get lost plus guys would hit the button and strip the grass down to dirt. I ran my stihl weedy for almost 45 minutes today and never had to hit the button. Auto feed worked great and it’s quick and easy to switch the heads. I am buying a second now as a spare. The people who left bad reviews more than likely had no idea how to install it. You have to turn the weedy over (gas cap up) so the nut will bite the shaft and thread on. Took 3 minutes to swap, quality material, ease of use are my main points for the 5 star review.

Don't Waste Your Money
Said would work on FS40C Stihl weed cutter. When I finally got it on the cutter first time, the string immediately wrapped so tightly around the base of cutter, it took forever to unwind. When that was accomplished and I openned and rewrapped string supplied, it happened again and when attempting to remove, the top screw piece broke. Was planning on trying different string actually made for Stihl product but with top screw in 2 pieces, I just gave up. More research shows the Stihl autofill weed cutter is known for this problem. Now deciding what to get. But bottom line this product was a waste of 18 bucks.

The cap can not be screwed onto the shaft, it simply does not fit and won't turn at all
Has to use the old cap from the original equipment since I don't want to wait for the replacement. Gave it two stars because the housing is obviously compatible with the original cap. Hopefully the housing will be able to take the refill line without an issue (the reason why buying a replacement trimmer head in the first place.)

string wont stay in holes so string can be loaded onto spools.
The holes where the string is supposed to go will not hold the string so that you can turn the head to load the string. The string keeps slipping out of the holes. On the original, the string would go 90 degrees vertically into a slot beneath the holes which hold the string snuggly allowing the string to load onto the spool. The string wont do that on this one. This came with no instructions.

Falling Apart Before Use
This is a foreign country copy of the original Stihl feeding head. Brand new out of the box, the center button to feed string would pop off and fall on the ground. Obviously this copy as manufactured by a foreign country was poor quality. Had to send it back and purchase the original feeding head manufactured by Stihl and that one worked outstanding.

poor grippers
This product fits my FS 40 perfectly it looks OEM...but if you remember the grip you get on the OEM when pushing the lines in the head to get started, they grip really well . Unfortunately this repop does not grip hardly at all. Near the end the last foot and a half will go flying out. So it wastes alot of wire. I put my old gripper part back in and used the rest of the new one and it works perfectly...

problematic feed trimmer head
I would not purchase this head if I had to do it over again. First, when you load the line on this machine, keeping the line spooled and tight while trying to place the unit on the shaft is very difficult. The slots where you place the line to keep it tight are not slotted small enough to keep the line. Next, once you get the unit on the trimmer, it often feeds out too much line and gets line bound up on the trimmer. This results in wasted line. Overall I have found this trimmer hard to work with.

Junk junk junk
This is complete crap. I used it 2 times to weed eat my yard. When I was out there yesterday it just broke for no reason at the bolt. Its junk should last way longer this just 2 uses .
