Where is the jackfruit grown? I've been told the season for jackfruit (at least here in Florida) is from May to December.

They are grown here in South Florida. They are generally available all year here.

There are 2 main varieties of jackfruit : One is soft and mushy and the other one is crisp and crunch. I would like to know which one you are selling.

Buy the crisp jackfruit. Once you get it, keep it in a dark room/closet for about two days. Once you get sweet smell from the fruit, you can cut it. If you buy the mushy one, you don't know if it is spoilt.

Does it actually taste just like juicy fruit. i am not spending $80 on a 20 pound spiky fruit imported from africa.

Hi - yes it does. However, it is a mess to open up and get to the fruit. Jackfruit has a substance called latex, which is unbelievably sticky, gets on everything, and is impossible to remove. It's an interesting fruit, but not worth the money or hassle IMHO.

$100 for a jackfruit? Really? That's highway robbery! Why such a high cost?

It says shipped 'Priority mail 2 day" if they use a flat rate box it should only run about $16. Sounds like the seller is either a liar or just ill-informed. What a shame.
