I bought this in 2024. I know it’s late with a review however I’ve noticed it has gone up tremendously in Price ,unfortunately.. my cats do love it. I will have to wait till the price comes down to buy it again…

6 of my cats are catnip sensitive to various degrees but this one gets them all going. When I opened it, it smelled like I had just gotten it from the plant and left it in the sun. It is a very fresh-looking bright green (tells me that a lot of the good stuff is still in there) and not all dried out and brown-looking. I could still see large leaf particles and even I enjoy the fresh scent. The biggest test came from my pickiest cat. With the other brands, she'll give it a sniff and lie down in it for a minute or two then move on. This stuff has her off-her-rocker crazy! She'll roll in it seemingly forever; she'll fight off interlopers; she eats the stuff! She even gets a little nuts when she sees me grab the container. It's so potent, I store some of their toys in it to absorb the oil; they love those little pom toys or even just a cotton ball that's been stored in it. It also refreshes other toys that may have lost their punch. I do have a catnip plant for the outdoor guys but short of harvesting and drying my own (would take too many plants), I don't know how much fresher it can get. I just make sure not to give it to them every day as this can overload and dull their senses. Price-wise, it's comparable to what you might pay at Petsmart, but a its much better quality. Put it on subscription and never run out!

Update, a week later: We buy Yeowww catnip and their products often. The cats love it. BUT, the package we most recently received must be very old! I saw no fresh date on it, but it was more like a package we had that had gotten buried that was well over two years old: the catnip is dry to the point of crispy and hurts your fingers to pinch it! We "pinch" catnip when sprinkling it on their scratchers to help release the oils. Sadly, this last package HAS no oils and is dried out and nearly fragrance-free. I hope we merely had the misfortune of being sent someone's very old stock, and not a change in how Yeowww! catnip is being processed! I took away one star for the overly-dry and/or very old catnip we received. :-( ----------------------------- I am not a catnip expert, so I have to trust the opinions of others. Toby and Gus, that is. We have had many kinds of catnip, and some have been okay, and some have been ignored. Yeowww! catnip remains the best one so far. Whether it is a toy filled with it (we have purchased several Yeowww! catnip toys over the last few years), or just a sprinkling of it over their scratchers, it is very popular! (Hint - to get the most out of this, pinch/crush it as you sprinkle it over their scratchers and such, much like you would crush dried basil in your own recipes.) Once they are done inhaling and doing the mouth-hanging-open enjoyment, they move on to eating it, licking and snorting it. Once that is done, if it was on a scratcher or the floor, they roll in it! This container is perfect for my rowdy senior cat! He loves it so much, it is perfect for when he wants to relax, and it is awesome for when he wants to get frisky and play. He loves to eat it, and has never gotten sick from it. He also loves to flop around and roll in it! It lasts a long time! I've had it for about a year maybe, and he just finished it! I would have put a picture, but I can't take it out without him getting excited! 🤣 It functions really well for his needs, he doesn't have many teeth but he can still chew and swallow this catnip perfectly. It was very clean when it was delivered, packaged well, no leaks or cracks. He absolutely loves Yeowww catnip, he loves their toys as well. What we do before he gets the catnip is I grind it up with my fingers, it really helps enhance the effect. Thank you so much for helping me find a catnip my cat actually likes! Pros: Cats love it Great for seniors Good for rowdy play and relaxing time Pairs well on food or mixed with treats Awesome for a cat with no teeth Great for my younger cat too Packaged well in a good container Very safe for my cat Lasts long Soft and good for swallowing Very clean and pristine when delivered Has a good strong smell but not overwhelming Good amount of product Cons: You have to grind it up before you play. My cat isn't always interested, but most of the time is.

Pretty disappointed. this brand used to be 5 star but they are cutting corners now. it used to have a lot more of the "bud" part but i guess they're taking that out for their premium "just the buds" product now, and are making up the weight by including sharp bits of stems, which were never present before. id rather them just include less product and keep the sharp stems out, because they're dangerous for cats. it's really not right. this stuff is only good if you use it to stuff toys where it can't be eaten, or if you hand pick through every bit. I've about had it with the decline in so many products these days, as if people won't notice. it's downright insulting. this one is especially upsetting to me because it has potential to injure cats either in the intestines or by getting lodged in the gums. I used this for years and I'm just really disappointed by the sudden change and seeming disregard for safety. i give 3 stars because it can be used in toys, but just know what you're getting is NOT suitable to give to cats as-is. I will update this review with pictures if it's possible to add them after I post this. I just wanted to give my 2 cents and get it off my mind.

My cats go nuts for this brand of catnip. The pre-made toys by the same company are favorites, but they're expensive and one of my cats will tear through them in record time (I usually find this out by following the trail of catnip through the house), so I decided to just make my own toys with the same nip. Thank goodness this comes in a plastic container with a fairly tight lid, because the cats absolutely know what it is and they bite it. It's a matter of time before they breach the plastic, so I make sure I keep it in a safe place when I'm not using it. I make little catnip fish and mice for my cats and sell them to others. It takes about 2 teaspoons of this nip with some polyfill to fill a fish (but I usually add some more just because) and while that might seem like a lot, this tub is pretty packed. As I work my through the nip, I remove any long or pokey bits of stem and I'm pleased that there really isn't much in there at all. This is mostly quality leaf with very little waste or stem. Of course, just putting some of this on the ground is sufficient to turn my cats into tumbling, squirmy idiots so even if you aren't using this nip for something else it's a great deal and a terrific way to treat your kitty friends. Highly recommended!

So I bought this for my 16 year old Tabby cat because she was depressed, thinking it would cheer her up after her husband left her for a bearded dragon. Unfortunately I bought it just as she decided to make some "Life changes", no drink or drugs and hitting the gym etc. I figured that perhaps my neighbours cats "Mr fluffy and Wookie" might like some and sure enough they went completely crazy for it, the down side is they must have told all the other cats in the estate because now, every time I open my hall door there are a queue of cats "looking for a bit of gear". The smell of cat jip stings my eyes & I have to step over large pools of cat vomit & fur balls. I've had to buy a burner phone because the cops have raided the house a couple of times. The quality is so good that a few dogs have even started calling looking for a hit. Anyway, I've had to up my distribution network, I have a couple of skanky ho cats coming around later and all the mice that lived in my sofa are gone, life is good. Great product.

My 13 yr old cat got tired of Kooky brand. I tried 3 other brands but this is the only one she paid any attention to-she actually came over when i opened it ! Rolled around purred so im very 😊 pleased. Good price for very full container as well.
