Delicious! And
This premium Basmati rice is truly delicious. While it's cooking the whole house smells yummy. I use it for many rice dishes and this rice, albeit more expensive than cheaper plain white has become our family favorite. For those hesitating to cook their own rice ("too hard", "don't have a steamer", or whatever) here's a foolproof method of cooking this - or any regular (not Minute Rice®) rice in your microwave, Yes, I said 'microwave' (!) It's easy & it 's almost impossible to ruin. Measure out 1/4 c.dry rice per person. Place in microwave-safe glass bowl (2-3 qt). Measure out water in a 3:1 ratio. (For 1/4 c. Rice use 3/4 c. water. For 1 c. dry rice use 3 c. water etc.) add in 1/4 tsp salt per 1/4 c. dry rice . So 1 c. dry rice needs 1 tsp salt. Put everything in glass bowl. You need least 1" clear space from the top of the bowl to allow room for bubbling. Some cooks like to rinse their rice before cooking to get very distinct grains of cooked rice, but for general purposes I often skip this step. Pro cooks shudder at this more modern way of cooking rice, but who cares. Cooked in the microwave you can't tell it from steamed . Dedicated rice steamer? Yet another kitchen appliance I've relegated to the kitchen graveyard. LOLPlace glass bowl of rice, water & salt in microwave - uncovered - and zap on full power for 9-10 minutes. Stir briefly and zap 9-10 minutes on half power. Cover until you're serving it. If you have a high power microwave use the shorter time. You'll have to tweak your cooking length the first time. Don't worry, rice is very forgiving. This rice is delectable as-is after cooking. It needs nothing else as a side dish or part of a more complex recipe. If you want it in a stew-like recipe add it at the last as Basmati rice doesn't like to be overcooked. Don't add any butter or margarine before cooking, It's not necessary.. This Crown Basmati rice is marvelous without adding anything. Afterwards, you can drizzle some butter, sauce or gravy if you want, but you may find it's so good right out of the microwave. To reheat the rice add a sprinkling of water to the rice, cover and zap for 1-3 min on full power depending on the amount of rice you're reheating. Fluff it up with a fork, recover and if not hot enough, zap briefly until it's steamy hot.I highly recommend this brand of rice. We eat rice for dinner in some dish at least 3 days/week as rice is so versatile (and my family loves this stuff!). Crown brand is one of the freshest and most fragrant of the Basmati rices I've tried. I recommend storing the unused dry rice in Tupperware to keep it fresh. You can also vac seal it in whatever size you want. One cook I know deals them in1-cup bags for easy storage and it's pre-measured so it cuts a tiny bit of time off prep.Bon appetit!

5 Stars and More
I am very hard to please when it comes to Basmati Rice - there have been many bags that I have purchased over the years and then given them away because they did not meet my expectations I have been a long time customer of Tilda and this was my first purchase for the Crown Basmati - yes it has hit all high marks and more. Beautiful popcorn like fragrance and gorgeous long grains and a beautiful color . Love it Thank you for the wonderful rice !

Fantastic high quality rice
I've bought a lot of other brands of basmati rice and this one is hands down a favorite. Even the cupboard where I store this bag of rice smells amazing every time I open it now. The rice is very fragrant with incredibly long grains that do not break when fluffing. The taste is excellent! I highly recommend this rice, especially if you are making more traditional regional dishes such as Jordanian, Saudi or Pakistani cuisine. Thank you Crown Premium for such a great quality product. It has absolutely made our Ramadan meals perfect!

Unfortunately bug infested.
I bought multiple bags of rice over the past year. Recently I received 2 bag that was infested with little black bugs. Very disappointed.Love the rice but I think this is my last time ordering it. Very disappointed. Unfortunately I can not get a refund.

Basic Basmati rice
This rice arrived promptly. It cooks up well and if left to steam a bit during the end of cooking it curls up nicely. It is better to use a little less water and watch it toward the end. Too much water will make it clump up. The flavor and aroma that I was looking for - a rich nutty buttery taste just was not there. However it is a decent rice for when you want a fluffy white rice.

Outstanding smell while cooking
I have had this bag for a little while and finally got to make some rice. The smell of the rice from the cooker was outstanding. The rice is very long and longer after cooking. The flavor is mild I use the rice with other dishes and have been happy with it. I looked carefully and washed well and found nothing undesirable. It is unfortunate that the rice is no longer available. 2 Lbs. will last me a long while

Amazing rice, odd-smelling bag
On the Amazon page for this rice, it says "organic." However nowhere on the package does it say "organic." I was concerned about the rice & wanted to return it, but Katie from the company promptly wrote back, "Since we are a Farm to Kitchen company, we have complete control of the conditions our rice is grown and processed under. And based on that, the rice is a 100% organic and GMO-free with respect to USDA guidelines. However, it is not certified organic yet and we are still working on it." I feel much better knowing this rice is organic (just not yet certified organic). I hope they change the bag for this product to one that doesn't have such a strange odor! If they ever change the bag to one that does not have a strange odor (as the rice also smelled strange like the bag, but thankfully I didn't notice the strange smell in the rice so long as I fully cooked it), I would gladly buy this rice again.

Never knew what long basmati was like before this
I'd never been particularly choosy about my basmati rice before I tried this. I would just buy whatever was cheapest. I was looking to make kitchari more often, and had someone recommend me to look for a longer grain basmati, so I ordered this based on reviews and the value it offered.Cooking the first batch opened my eyes to both the difference in texture and fluffiness. I like to mostly cook my basmati, then turn off the stove and leave it on to keep absorbing water. This basmati really seems to work well with that technique. The cooked article doesn't break down and go mushy as easily as the regular bagged organic basmati I find at my small supermarket. The cooked grains are also about twice as long, and it seems fluffier on the fork.I'm no expert on the taste of basmati - kitchari has a whole pile of spices in it, but everything else is a couple of strides ahead of anything else I've tried.
