This works great for what I use it for! I work a job that has me handing papers with information on them. I'm in Texas southwest and it gets hot here so we open doors.That somewhat coolish breeze comes and blows are papers around! I use this item you're looking at to help evaluate that problem! I stretched this across the table that had upper shelving and divided the clamps between the 2 spots there we had a windproof paper holder!Recommended this yes! If it can hold two thin pieces of paper from strong wind why would I not trust it to hold my clothes?As for strength, I'm not sure have hung things on them from 5lb helmets. The 5lbs is a bit much but only because the Bungy cord is loss.

We normally go to the beach, at least twice a year, with four boys who are in and out of the water all day it was so easy for their wet stuff to be hung to dry. The clips held tightly even in the strong beach winds. Really glad I purchased this. I have recommended this others. Only improvement I would make is to add a storage bag to the end for easy roll up and storage.

Used this for 2 weeks in Europe. The hooks are metal so the line can be a bit heavy if you are looking to travel very light. Otherwise, it works great and is every to hook to various things in the room and holds a lot of weight with the hooks.

I use this in our garage to hang washable potty pads for our three small Yorkies. I hang it between two tall metal shelving units. It works great and holds a lot. It could be hung in a back yard or large laundry room, if you have something to connect it to on both ends in those spaces.
