Strongly recommend
Oh boy was I worried about this thing when I bought it. I just needed one and I took a chance. It turned out to be 100 times better than expected. It seems well built, heavy duty and made out of good materials, especially for being a product from China. It is quite heavy. The photocell feature works like a charm, even in the shade (the manufacturer installation instructions stated not to install in the shade but I didn't have cable long enough to reach, so I took a chance), it works perfectly well from dusk to dawn. Installing and programming it could not be easier. It was a Grandslam.Updtae: The grandslam lasted as long as the Astros celebration of the World Series Championship. The device stopped working after approximately 3-4 weeks of use. I tested the outlet for electricity, it was OK, tried different outlets and pressed the reset button and it didn't work.It is a shame because I really liked it. In fact, I am going to get another one and give it a second chance. Will see what happens. From 5 stars to 2. Would give it 1, but if it fails again, I will give it a one star review.

Nice Power Box, But Has Drawbacks
So far it has worked great. Only had it for a few months. Time will tell if the transformer holds up to outdoor service especially in our Arizona heat. One thing to note is that the power only works with the photo cell. It has to be outside. The timer is on with the photo cell and off with a pre determined number of hours that you set. for example 2,3,4,5....etc. It really is not a timer you can set to come on and turn off at a specific time. That I don't like about it!!

Awful customer service
Purchased unit on 5-21-2020, installed end of June. It worked for about 6 weeks before noticing issues. We thought it was something we were doing with set up but its simple so we called customer service who put us in contact with a tech who did not get back to us for a few days and when he did he suggested trying to resetwhich we did over the next day or so and it did not work so we contacted him again and after a few days he got back to me and said they would replace. Did not hear from anyone so contacted customer service they said they would send out replacement. When I received it was not a replacement but a part that needed to be replaced. I called back this is not acceptable its wasting to much of my time . They said I could send it back for them to repair but I would have to pay shipping both ways. That would be more than 1/2 the cost of the product. This company's customer service and warranty policy are both fradulent and unprofessional.

Pretty stainless boat anchor! Find another option!
If your looking for a pretty boat anchor this is the right choice! It’s cheap junk in a nice stainless box. The top of the box is sealed but the bottom is not and would not last long in the elements. Made in China. Mine was dead on arrival. I spent over an hour troubleshooting my system thinking it was something on my end. Checked with dc meter and none of the outputs had voltage at all in any of the settings. Source voltage was good at 120 and screen was illuminated on the unit and setting could be adjusted, but voltage output was never present even in the “0” setting or on. Stay away obviously there is no quality control checks before the units are shipped.

What a great company to deal with
So I installed the transformer that I was skeptical to buy over internet. The reason for my skepticism actually happened. I had no voltage at any of the taps. I wrote the company and they say to give them two days to respond, the response was less then an hour.they then got me in touch with Sam their technician. We talked and he explained that on the bottom of unit, there is a circuit breaker. I reset it and everything worked perfectly. I should have seen the problem, but my install was around my pool equipment and It was difficult to see.Thank you and will recommend this company to all my associates.

Good replacement for a 8-year old 300W TimberTech decklight transformer.
After 8-years of reliable service, my 300W TimberTech transformer failed (the program control buttons no longer functioned). I was looking for a replacement 300W transformer, and the BPL was less expensive than a TimberTech transformer, but appeared to be a similiar unit (the Timbertech was 2" longer and provided an enclosed cover for the wire connections). The same wall mounting screws could be used and the wire connections were easy to make. The unit has been in operation for 1-week and performs flawlessly (photo cell turns on the unit at dusk and turns it off at the set time of 2-hours later). I'm happy with this purchase!

THESE ARE GREAT...!
Everything is super simple, and the best attribute is the multiple voltage outs so you can can get your longer lines going without the flickering. Obviously you must do your homework to figure out how many per output, as well total on the transformer... but that would be expected if you are touching anything electrical.Only Con some may have is that these units do not have a option to set internal time clocks... which is a bummer, but I find the photocell works surprisingly well and all my boxes except one have similar daylight/nighttime exposure - so they kinda all are in sync for on times. I will probably add a timer relay at the AC source at some point - but durable, reliable, and well made transformers. I now own around 5 total!

Junk
Description says "with an option of constant On to override the photo cell and connect it to a plug in timer." and the user manual reiterates this but when you connect it to a plug in timer, when the timer turns off, then turns back on, the transformer goes back to Auto mode with the photocell. Obviously a piece of crap because it can't remember the ON setting and the description and user manual is incorrect.
