Decent Enough Brace
Supports my arthritic knee pretty well. I’m wearing it for daily wear, not jogging/running or other sports. Walking and daily activity. Comfortable enough, with no pinching or gouging, to wear all day. I sleep in it as well when I need some nighttime relief. Replaced an older Ace open back brace, and this is as good or better. Prevents the soreness, stiffness and swelling I get when active and not wearing a brace. I much prefer the open/wrap around style. The pull on/over style is just not as convenient for me as the wrap around. I also believe the wrap around braces are more comfortable. The brace can also be put on or taken off without removing shoes. That’s a big deal if you want, or need, to remove the brace during the day, or forget to put it on before putting your shoes on. I’ve only had it a month or so, so I can’t speak to how durable the brace is, or isn’t. . It’s a $15 brace, it’s not a miracle device. If you needed a knee replacement 5 years ago and still haven’t had it done, it’s probably not going to help you all that much. For an old damaged, 4 times operated on knee that is going to need to be replaced in a few years, it is helping delay that replacement. Good support. Comfortable. Convenient. Having crappy knees and being old simultaneously, isn’t for the weak. This brace makes life easier and less painful. Update - this brace is still working and performing as desired. Sad to note the design change. Seems like a bad decision. Maybe they'll change it back.

Great value knee brace
The brace helped stabilize my knee while allowing me to continue to function. It fit well and is of solid construction. Very durable I am impressed with the value for the money.

Brace is good for the price
This brace is from a trusted brand and it is well manufactured and packaged. The pictures are a little deceiving as I though the cross cross elastic pieces are what were Velcro and you could adjust- turns out those are sewn in/non-adjustable and the back is what is Velcro’ed together and helps adjust the size. The quality and Velcro are good. Good support around the kneecap. It gets a little lose after wearing for an hour or so and walking with it, but nothing less to be expected because almost all knee braces do that when using them a lot.

Works great - designed well
This knee support is exactly what I was looking for. It offers good support while stabilizing the patella. I have had similar braces where the materials bunched up at the back of the knee. This support is designed without materials directly behind the knee so there is no bunching of material which makes it much more comfortable to wear.

Lower quality than earlier versions of this product
I have purchased the Mueller # 56427 four times in the past 12 years and have historically been well pleased with the product. I was surprised, however, when this one arrived. The Neoprene is thinner than prior versions, and the velcro straps are about 1/3 narrower than the early versions of the product. These two factors combine to make the knee brace seem less supportive. I would rank the earlier versions of the product a 5-star. This one just doesn't meet my needs as well.

Just as good as my 20 yo Mueller brace
First impressions here. Used this brace yesterday just after it arrived. The fit is perfect for my legs. I have an older Mueller brace that wraps the leg in the same way but also has added Velcro brace straps above and below the knee cap. That old one is 20 years old now. I've always considered it the best brace ever. This new brace has cross bracing built in both above and below the knee cap so the very same support there but without the added Velcro attachments to make. Not needed for this brace since it still provides that same level of support around the knee cap. The patella support ring shows in the listing here on Amazon as being a complete circle but it is not. It is really just a half circle that is only around the lower half of the knee cap opening. But that's where it should be for the best support there. I read a review for this brace about the material around the patella opening fraying in a very short time of use. Since I only just received this yesterday and only have used it once so far I can only go by my experience with my 20 year old brace. That one is the very same material around that opening without the stitching for the patella support pad and it has not frayed nor does it show much wear at all... and it is 20 years old and has seen a great many uses over the years. So I'm not worried about any fraying, but we'll see in time. I am 67 and still sometimes have to climb a ladder or stairs. I live in a house with a lower level and a full flight of stairs going down, 14 steps and also my deck has a single run of 15 steps to go down to the back yard. If I am doing things that require going up and down those steps or the step ladder several times in a day my knees hurt. Going up builds muscle, but going down can damage the joints. I wanted 2 knee braces and initially wanted to get a second one just like my old one. But this is the closest in design to what my old one is and after using it I feel it will be just as good as my old one. So now I do have 2 braces.

You blew it!
The knee brace shown in the pictures here is NOT the one being sold now. That's the old design, which I used for the better part of twenty years, and which worked spectacularly well and was heartily approved of by both my doctor and my physical therapists. The new one is terrible. They reversed the orientation of the straps, and wrecked the design. On the old ones, the Velcro closure was on the long straps, allowing you to wrap it around the outside of the brace until you reached the desired tension. It was easy to put on by yourself in just a minute or two, extremely comfortable, and provided the perfect amount of support. On the new ones, the Velcro closure is on the SHORT strap. This causes several major problems: It means that the long adjusting straps must be wrapped UNDER the rest of the brace to provide any tension. This guarantees that the long straps will either slide down or up, resulting in them tangling at the back of your knee - which can be painful - or dangling down your leg, which is uncomfortable and unsightly. Finally, it makes it virtually impossible to put on by yourself, because the Velcro closes on the back of your leg no matter what...if you want this to fit properly, you're going to be asking for help, and wrestling with it for a while. The new version of this knee brace IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN. Roll it back, Mueller! Until you do, you've lost a long-time customer.

painful legs
Perfect fit and do the job well. They hold up well, are a good price and last a long time through wash after wash
